Don't worry, pretty much no one was ok after this the first time. Or the second time. Or any other time. I'm glad though that you weren't too angry with the false finish, I've seen the full gamut of emotions including seething rage for it.

James Brooks

River has what I like to call "Terminal Cool Girl Syndrome" I love her dearly and her whole "never let him see the damage" philosophy hurts so much to watch. She always has to be strong, intelligent, fearless, etc. Rewatching the series I've noticed how frequently the Doctor takes his anger out on her (albeit unintentionally) and how she learns and adapts. In this episode, she didn't know how to respond to his care and the line "You embarrass me" is a direct quote from when he said the same thing to her 'the wedding of river song' I wish she was better appreciated. She lost her mother and father and all she could focus on was making sure he was alright.

Incase no one mentioned it, there is a scene that was never shot but was storyboarded and includes a goodbye from Rory. Doctor Who: P.S. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWU6XL9xI4k It's only a couple minutes long and definitely worth a watch if you want a little more closure.

Such a great episode, and I’m glad you were never spoiled right till the end. There is a behind the scenes that you should watch in your own time called ‘the last day of the ponds’ (maybe someone could link it to you incase of spoilers). It shows what went into this first half of the series, and how close the cast genuinely are. Also the actual final episode they filmed was The Power of Three

I really love this episode just because of the roller coaster ride it is. it starts off fun & whimsical, to mysterious, to scary to a tragic ending, to a happy ending just to pull the rug out from underneath you. It really covers all the emotions I think

Annnnd, now I'm tearing up all over again. 😭

Yeah I remember that. This being their ending was teased for months, everyone knew. But every rector I've seen get to this episode has been shocked lol. I guess it makes sense because it seems like a random episode for this to happen on. But for us this was like a series finale, followed by a long break before the Christmas special and then the continuation of series 7 the next year. 😂

Siobhan Linehan

In the UK, this episode was widely hyped (for some weeks in advance) as 'the one where the Ponds leave' - so the question was not 'when' but 'how?' For those coming to it unspoiled, of course, it's a different matter altogether.

Ian Smith

During filming the scene on the bench at the end, Karen Gillan (Amy) read the afterword right next to Matt on the bench and Matt cried so they had to do another take. :(

Tommy

I'm honored. :)

I won’t get to watch this till this evening, but I’ve made sure to cue you up for my first reaction to watch when I get home!
