Bad? Sure. The Worst in all of "new" who (The Revival)? No.

Been away for awhile and im slowly catching back up, I forgot how bad this episode is lmao. Maybe even the worst in all of new who. (The majority of the Who community refer to this episode as "In The Forest of the Shite")

Yep I agree with your thoughts on this episode, it's not good. The stuff with Maebh and her sister makes no sense, the CGI zoo animals were awful lol and there's no way that Maebh could've outrun them or that Danny shining a torch at the tiger would've stopped it and I'm suprised that Danny seemed to be so chilled about Clara lying to hin considering how much he dislikes The Doctor. This whole episode just feels badly written unfortunately. But I love the moments between The Doctor and Clara. The way that he's constantly jealous of Danny, the way that she was willing to let Danny burn but wanted to save The Doctor said a lot to me, the way that she looked longingly after the TARDIS as The Doctor left and the way that she was SO excited to see the flare happening while Danny didn't want to is all proof that The Doctor and Clara are the true romance here. Now Clara loves Danny, undoubtedly, but she loves The Doctor more. She couldn't give him up and she couldn't let him get hurt and he feels the same about her, whereas she's been more than willing to hurt Danny over and over. Jenna herself said before series 8 aired that she finds it fascinating how Clara doesn't even realize how much she loves The Doctor and also how much Clara is becoming like The Doctor, which is something we're seeing more and more. But yep, this episode overall was a let down. 🙈

I don't think you'll get many disagreements with your views on this weak episode. It's obviously trying to be some kind of lyrical parable about trust and fear of the unknown, having a plot with no villain at all -- the Doctor triumphs by understanding what is going on rather than fighting it. Unfortunately, the wild implausibility of the events and the Doctor's passivity for the majority of them, together with a tedious and uninspiring group of supporting characters, makes for a lacklustre viewing experience. Like you, I couldn't stand the kids -- while Maebh herself is both well written and well played, the rest of them take up a lot of screen time to no good effect. The young actors are no better than adequate, but the real problem is that nothing they are given to do or say is interesting, especially when the episode resorts to flashback scenes back in the classroom that feel like pure padding.

I think it was on either a review of this episode or a top ten with this episode on YouTube that it was pointed out how potentially harmful it is to suggest to people to not take their medication if they need it. Upon rewatching it yeah, this is really jarring. Like… it’s really unhelpful.

"You walk our Earth, you breathe our air and you can damn well help us when we need it." - Clara (Kill the Moon) "I walk your Earth, I breathe your air." - The Doctor (In the Forest of the Night)
