For those of us watching AoS in real time: watching 1x16 on a Tuesday, watching Winter Solderi that Friday, then 1x17 the following Tuesday - the ONLY way to watch all of these!!!

You're not the only one Britany. When this aired so many people were trying to come up with explanations, the most common being that Coulson sent Ward undercover to infiltrate Garrett's cell. I found it funny that all during season 1 many people complained that Ward was bland & boring (I think the line in the episode was meant to be a jab at that) but after this episode the same people said "no Ward can't be evil, I want him to go back to the way he was"

Loved your reaction and disbelief at firstly Garrett being the Clarivoyant and then Ward shooting Hand. The show did a great job of throwing suspicion onto multiple characters whilst still showing that Garrett was HYDRA all along. This episode is the one that changed everything for SHIELD fans and the showrunners as, up until this episode, they couldnt write even reference HYDRA let alone include them in the season arc. Which is why most of the episodes to date have been about the monster of the week or building the SHIELD world. And now, with the cat/HYDRA out of the bag/shadow the showrunners can progress with their story's. THe episode title refers to the turn of HYDRA, Garrett and Ward. One tie in to the movie that is alluded to but not confirmed is the Mousehole device that the team use to escape The Bus. Fitz says that he had submitted it for evaluation and Garrett replies that top operatives tend to steal the best tech. In the movie Fury escapes his car using a similar device...coincidence? Onto the next...
