I was at an interview panel with Rona Munro and Stephen Moffat at a Doctor Who convention. She was the writer behind the final classic story and said that she was so terrified she'd end up the kiss of death for new who too! lol. Thankfully she wasn't.

2023-09-16 05:56:25 +0000 UTCThe most interesting thing about this episode is that it was the first to be written by a Classic Who writer - Rona Munro. Although, technically,the first Classic writer to be credited on a Revived Series episode was Marc Platt; who was credited with the story for Series 2's Cybermen two-parter, based on a Cybermen BigFinish origin story that he wrote entitled 'Spear Ports' - or something along those lines. (I can't really remember. It's not spoken about much)
