When Mac entered the city, the first thing did was touch the symbols on the ground. Trip and Coulson didn't. That's what turned Mac into a zombie.

2023-08-07 00:00:30 +0000 UTCWe lost Trip to scheduling conflicts. The actor who plays him, B J Britt, became a regular on another show during the hiatus between season one and season two of AoS and was dividing his time between the two, with his main gig getting the lion's share of his time. In the end I believe the decision was made to let him devote all of his time to that show, rather than continue to make him show up for a couple of scenes each week; to do little more than smile, be charming, and remind people that the character still existed. Which is pretty much all Trip had been doing for the first 10 episodes of season two. Something had to give.
