Hello ma'am, new sub, noticed you were just starting my favorite Doctor on YT (11) and couldn't wait the years for the rest, once I realized you were caught up. I had to laugh about "This has to be the most beautiful regeneration." (Because I thought, I bet the TARDIS liked it the best...)

2024-04-28 09:31:42 +0000 UTCHere’s the way I think about what the Master was going for: He has always wanted to be the special one, and then he learns that the Doctor was the special one. So he couldn’t just impersonate her or pretend to be the Doctor — He actually had to become her and literally take her place. Like if the Doctor was a movie on a VHS tape, what he did was record over her. Some people object to the idea of the Doctor be ‘special’ like this, but she’s not the chosen one — she’s the colonized one. Tecteun treated her like a coal seam to be strip mined. The critique of empire runs all through 13’s era. (Listen to episode 110B of the Reality Bomb podcast at the 44:39 mark for an excellent 7-minute piece about this.)
