PS I'm sad it got spoiled for you who the future Doctor is. But now that you know, his name is Ncuti Gatwa. He's Rwandan Scottish which makes him the 4th Scottish Doctor. His name is pronounced Shootey.

2023-10-30 05:33:14 +0000 UTCKing James is an interesting fellow of history. His mother is Mary Queen of Scot's. She was executed because the English thought she was trying to take over the English throne. Queen Elizabeth was the Queen at the time, Mary Queen of Scot's cousin (also the wife of 10th Doctor, which we saw in the 50th anniversary episode). At the time, Scotland and England were still separate countries, and mostly at war. The fact that Mary was beheaded meant that James became the 6th King James of Scotland. Then Elizabeth died with no heir, James also became King James the first of England. This is where the Union of the Crowns happened, Scotland and England had the same ruler. There was a lot of religious turmoil with this. Today, the King James Bible is the most common bible that's used to this day. It's in most hotel rooms. It litteraly came from this guy who was convinced witches and the devil existed, was a closeted homosexual and didn't like it, and somehow we all decided that his interpretation of the bible is the only one that ever existed. (angry face emoji)
