2024-10-05 22:35:27 +0000 UTCLMD stands for Life Model Decoy :) Gotta agree with you on the romance writing, though I think it also comes down to just chemistry. Chloe Bennet and Luke Mitchell were giving me next to nothing in terms of romantic chemistry so it came down to being told I was supposed to see it. I was ready for her and Robbie to bang from day 1 but her and Lincoln I was like really? This guy's the love of your life? 😂 Didn't help that Daisy was the only character who cared about him so he felt out of place in that regard as well. (His death scene was an exception, I thought that was extremely well done.) There's some of that with Mack and Yo-Yo, too, but they're not as in the forefront as Daisy and Lincoln were, and as you said their characters have been around for a while so since we care about them individually a weakness in relationship isn't as glaring. I read at one point that the Fitzsimmons relationship is partially based on the showrunners', which might factor into it feeling more tangible than some of the others. The characters also have had such a tight connection from the beginning that when the dynamic shifted from platonic to romantic it still made sense. Fortunately, romance isn't a focus of the show and the plot/character writing is so tight that I generally let it slide.
