Third Person POV
Territory of the Pirates of the Dawn.
...
...
The next day, Luffy was with Carrot, as he had asked her to meet him.
They were in one of the newspaper production factories, while a new edition began to roll out that day, being rapidly printed by the machines, obviously speaking badly of the government.
Carrot nodded upon hearing Luffyâs request, as she had acquired the portal fruit, which could create multiple round distortions in space that could link one side to the other. Along with Luffy multiplying her power, Luffy had something incredible in his hands.
Carrot began to focus on the stacks of newspapers while he sat nearby, reading a book. It was just to enhance her power, being close while the Mink prepared to begin.
She began to make movements with her hands, while the newspapers started being pulled into portals that appeared in the space above the stacks.
Quickly, thousands that soon became millions of newspapers began entering the portals, while all around the world, small portals began to appear in front of peopleâs houses, with the newspaper falling right in front without anyone noticing.
Morgan would be jealous of their service, if he knew the secret. And he really wanted to understand how Luffy managed to make a newspaper delivery so fast and so discreet that not even the Government, the Cipher Pols, or the special forces could figure out how, with them all over the world trying to understand what was happening.
They couldnât intercept it â the newspapers simply appeared in front of people's houses, waiting for someone to pick them up.
The last newspaper entered the portal while the thousands of stacks with millions of newspapers completely disappeared, leaving the warehouse totally empty.
Luffy looked up as Carrot turned to him.
"Very well, we're done here," he said in the end, closing the book, while Carrot nodded cheerfully.
"It's time to go say goodbye to the crews that are leaving today, you can do whatever you want." Luffy said, as he headed to Whitebeardâs home island, leaving the factory.
Today, one of the pirate groups that would depart was â none other than the Whitebeard Pirates â who were starting to prepare to leave Sphinx.
The Moby Dick, which hadnât been destroyed in the war, was still there: quite damaged due to the battles, especially after Whitebeardâs fall, but the ship was still standing.
Franky had also taken a look at it during this time, thinking about how he could modify or even reinforce it for the crew. Which he ended up doing, having made some vital repairs to the ship.
Luffy landed behind the crowd on the island, saying goodbye to its protectors, who would now be safe in Luffyâs territory. He approached them as they were loading the last crates onto the ship.
Ace had already noticed, along with the others, his arrival, and smiled upon seeing him coming their way.
"You're here. Brother," he said cheerfully.
"And to think that you, you bastard, will go after the One Piece treasure from here, in Popsâ place."
He murmured. Deep down, Ace had always dreamed of Whitebeard getting the One Piece and becoming the Pirate King, as a proof of devotion that Ace and the others had for him.
But the old man never wanted that â everything he wanted, he already had, his family â while treasures and other pirate things werenât very important to Whitebeard.
"I hope youâre not jealous that Iâm going after the treasure your father left. Most likely, he wanted you to get it. After all, he saw you as his heir."
Luffy said, crossing his arms.
"As if I needed a treasure like that, from that guy," Ace replied grumpily.
Luffy shrugged. "Anyway, what's the plan?" he asked.
Ace looked at the crew. Most of them were there, although some bore heavy scars from the battles of the previous years. One example was Vista, who had lost an arm.
There was also a new member: Weevil, the same one who had tried to intercept them some time ago and fought with them, until Luffy arrived with Zoro and Bepo, defeating him.
Weevil, different from before, was now helping the Whitebeard Pirates load the crates onto the ships, beginning to also embrace the concept of family that this crew preached among themselves, calling everyone brothers, and he seemed happy with that. Even though he wasn't a biological son, everyone there was a son of Whitebeard and wanted to honor his legacy and inherit his will.
He was now under Ace's command and would be a strong force in their upcoming journeys.
"First, we're going to help everyone left from the fleet and those in the territories Pops used to protect. We're going to help them and bring back the Whitebeard fleet. After that, we're going to take revenge on Blackbeard," Ace said with great determination, as Luffy nodded.
"That moment will come soon, brother. Blackbeard doesn't seem to realize how many enemies he's made in this time." Luffy scoffed.
Blackbeard didnât just have the Straw Hat crew as enemies, but also Aceâs group, which was returning to the seas, and Katakuriâs group, in charge of the Charlotte family, whom Luffy would speak to soon. Those two sought even more revenge against Blackbeard than Luffy and his crew.
Ace nodded at Luffyâs words. "Yeah. And when that time comes, Iâll crush him myself."
"Donât be so full of yourself, Ace. Iâll fight him," Luffy said, flashing an arrogant grin.
"Iâm going to face him," Ace insisted stubbornly.
"The strongest faces the strongest," Luffy retorted.
"Who said youâre going to be the strongest?" Ace replied, crossing his arms. "Obviously Iâll face him," he said, pointing to himself.
Luffy just grinned. "Oh? Well, Iâd like to see that and Iâll be waiting to see your strength until then. Anyway, good luck, brother. Letâs stay in touch. And donât forget to say goodbye to Sabo and Lucy. Even Grandpa is still around. Heâd definitely like to see you one last time," Luffy replied.
Ace nodded, but made a face. "I wouldnât want to see that old man again," he said, shrugging and walking off the next moment.
In the end, Luffy spoke briefly with Marco and the others as he said goodbye to everyone, then flew away from Sphinx and went to meet the pirates of the Charlotte family, whose ship was on the coast of another island.
"Good luck, Katakuri," Luffy said seriously, as Katakuri nodded.
"Thank you for everything, Monkey D. Luffy. Thanks to the training we had here, we now have even more strength to protect our territory. We wonât let any bastard get close again," he said tensely â it almost sounded like a veiled jab, considering the first attack on their territory had been the meteors Luffy asked Bepo to launch at Big Mom.
In any case, Katakuri had become even more powerful, along with the members of his family, learning the six styles of the holy knights and honing their hakis.
Anyway, Luffy was satisfied with his response.
"So, what's the plan now, man?" he asked the five-meter-tall giant.
"We're going to reinforce our defenses and we also intend to reclaim our territory that's being invaded after the fall of our mother. And, of course, get our revenge," he replied, referring to Blackbeard.
As Luffy had predicted, that man now had plenty of enemies.
"Don't worry. The moment you want to take revenge on Blackbeard will come soon," Luffy said.
He didnât know what would happen with Sword, since here things were different from the original, where Coby and later Garp were captured by Blackbeardâs pirates.
But if that did happen, Luffy certainly wouldnât think twice before launching an attack on Blackbeardâs territory, especially if his grandfather were captured.
And even if he wasnât, Luffy was already planning to attack them after Elbaf.
But it wouldnât be just him â there would be the Dawn Pirates, Sword, the Charlotte family pirates, and the Whitebeard Pirates, with Katakuri and Ace perhaps already having reached the level of Yonko. They were already close to wielding Conquerorâs Haki in their attacks.
âFarewell, Monkey D. Luffy,â Katakuri nodded, beginning to return to the ship, while the entire family did the same.
Luffy also approached his lover there, while Lola was also present, saying goodbye to her siblings.
"Goodbye, sisters! Come visit me soon! Iâm staying here for now!" she exclaimed, while Smoothie turned her face away, not wanting to look at her sister after having been defeated since the events of Onigashima â although now she understood how Lola had become so powerful. After all, one month of training with her lover equaled 20 months with the skill that multiplied learning by 20 times.
Luffy saw Sanji being dragged off by his wife, with a slightly gloomy look as she pulled his ear, and Sanji apologizing for something. In the end, he had found someone to his liking â and very jealous.
The only part of Big Momâs Pirates that would remain in the territory was Germa, or rather, Reijuâs father, who would stay to assist with the experiments.
In the end, Luffy was gathering the scientists and concentrating all the research here, no longer needing to hide, with the government unable to enter the cluster of islands that made up his territory.
If Vegapunk also joined them after Egghead, the advancement would be even greater.
Luffy was certain that, with that, he would have the greatest base of minds in the entire world â even more so with Vegapunk, who had all the knowledge the World Government had provided him, being able to access unique information hidden by the government from the rest of the world for centuries.
No wonder he was able to conduct studies on the Void Century, even reaching truths the Government didnât want anyone to know.
That made one wonder: what does the Government fear so much about the Void Century?
Obviously, that was something that would eventually be answered, which is why Luffy wouldnât ask anyone â not even Vegapunk.
He would leave it all to be discovered when they found the Great Treasure left by Roger.
Thus, the Charlotte family began saying their farewells, also heading back to the sea.
Luffy also went to speak with Bentham once more, with ships loaded to take the new members to Baroque Works and its bases scattered throughout the New World.
There wasnât much secrecy there, as the members of the Donquixote family â now spies â boarded the ship.
Almost all of them were there, possessing knowledge of the black market, which would be very useful, while others like Baby-5 and Monet were now directly part of Luffyâs crew.
Pica would remain in the territory to build bases for the organizations there and even help rebuild countries.
As for Sugar, Luffy kept her restrained with Seastone the entire time.
She even lived in a house in Dressrosa, with Luffy having granted Monetâs request for her sister â but she was still kept in custody due to her fruitâs powers being far too dangerous.
Even though those same powers, capable of erasing a personâs existence from peopleâs memories, gave Luffy an immense potential to manipulate the world, he still didnât believe it was right. Thatâs why he never truly used them.
Anyway, Luffy talked for a while with Bentham, exchanging a few more words and assigning some missions for Baroque Works.
Some key members of the Revolutionary Army were also leaving with them, to get to know the organization, with Luffy allowing his father to benefit from the intel they had gathered since Luffy took control of the post-Alabasta Baroque Works.
In the end, they departed as well â on that day, the Whitebeard Pirates, the Charlotte Family Pirates, and the Baroque Works agents would begin to make names for themselves in the New World, also carrying out covert missions.
Luffy headed to one last stop before preparing to depart with the Black Pearl, as he made his way to a newly opened bar in Dressrosa, bearing the classic name âShakky's Rip-off Barâ.
Luffy walked in while only two people were there that morning, with Shakky behind the counter serving her husband and chatting with another man beside him.
They were none other than Silvers Rayleigh and Patrick Redfield.
Luffy wanted to exchange a few words with them, while also settling a fight he had promised Patrick, wanting to clear his debt once and for all that day.
This was the second challenge he had taken on after invading Impel Down, the first being when he ended up killing Bullet.
