Time Spent?

I'm a little curious to see how much time some of you guys have put into playing the visual novel.  I was playing with some code for a timer (I just realized I left it in the game, at the VERY VERY end of Chester's route).  That bit wasn't working properly with me, so it's not an accurate reading, I think...

Anyway, how much time do you think you've put into Extracurricular Activities?

Comments

I would've probably played more. But I wanted to wait until you released the completed version because I plan on exploring all the different possibilities in their completion and entirety.

Kurley (Reese) Johnson

After playing all the routes, I have to say that I have enjoyed Harold and Chester’s routes the most. Makes me want more!

Matt Williams

Harold and Chester are the main reasons I lose so much sleep and show up at work looking like a zombie

topspin2flame

I almost die from insomnia because of this game xD

Great Jaggi

Have to agree with Daniel, I've had the game for 4 days and every night I'm going to bed at least 6am.

To be Honest i Didn't get much sleep, For like a week. Can't wait for new updates!

I play each route like 7 times for now and I reread the whole route when it's updated. I know there time schedules better than mine XD

That can definitely increase the play time X3

DyneWulf

Hum, I never considered giving the player an option to decline the comic showing. I'll have to add that in, so thanks for the idea!

DyneWulf

I played through each route, but I'm regretting it. Grifter is a bitch, Darius is apparently a homophobe, three of the characters apparently have an unavoidable foot fetish, and I was forced to read that weirdass IDEKA comic without the ability to skip. The only thing I honestly like about this whole mess is Maria. She's lovely.

I had to redo them a few times (switching computers, big updates...so a lot)

King_Astro

It can't be playera in less than a day

kuroBaraYue

Similar to a lot of the 20+ hour folks, I'm well into the 50+. I've played each route start to 'finish' a few times each. I've loved every minute.

Healer Main

I must be slightly over the 10 hours mark, probably the longest I've played to a Visual Novel.

Kernog

I got the email about this post and didn't realize it was a poll at first so I thought I'd be doing a little more guesswork. But I think it's safe to say that I've already put in a similar amount of time to this game as I've spent playing some of the longer jrpgs. Other visual novels that I've played and loved have all felt either too short or just long enough (DDADDS is one that I wish had more closure) but EA really feels like it could almost never be long enough because it could go on forever and I would still enjoy playing it. But because of how well you've written the stories, I also feel like once you finally do finish, I'll actually be satisfied with how each route ends because it doesn't seem like you'll leave us hanging.

Will Daniels

Over 20 hours easily. It's a great game and the story is amazing.

Artus

I think its safe to say I've put in well over 20 hours at this point xD loving every minute <3

Naesaki Ashwell

I'm into the game for like a year and a half. I've been playing the Routes (Coach, Chester, and Dozer) with mostly each update, so 20 hours might not be a representative part of the time I spend in the game Hahaha. Keep the good work!

Ursus

You mean daily or totally? If it is totally, then it is safe to say I spent around 20 hours, I just can't help myself, I got caught in every character's story.

Argos

I've gone through each route at least 3 times by the end of last year, with little to no skipping, so probably nearing the triple digits?

bigfootgolem

0-5, but that's not representative of how much I play it - I'm just new XD

Anthony Stuart

20+ hours easily. But it’s often because we have to restart each route whenever there is an update. Playing through it just to get back to where we were is exhausting.

Tsukiokami

i'd say 20+ total easy, i've played through each route multiple times and gone through different options to see everything i can, it's always fun

GrayMech

I've been on for almost a year so I'm pretty sure it's been more than 20 hours.

I played though all of coach's route in one go... so 20+ hours doesn't sound so exaggerated

I first played this game a couple years ago. I love replaying routes, esp. Spencer and Harold's (They're both totally my type) and I look forward to their updates the most, but Chester and Dozer have a soft spot in my heart. I always look forward to a new update every month. Thank you for creating something really cool. Reminds me how much I miss writing.

Wheeler Bertrand

Let's describe it as borderline unhealthy. Sure I do tend to redo some routes to see how and what plays different on some choices. Lordy I felt so bad telling spence on day 20 I wanted to sleep alone when it was clear as daylight he wanted you in his bed. But look it as your work is so compelling I cannot help myself it is that damned good. Now I know this may seem a bit much but id really like darius update news here and there. Good god that lion is very intriguing and often at times vexing but he is really really sweet when you gave him the chance to open up.

Lord Memnar

10-12 hours? oh that's good, i thought i was so slow redoing routes taking that long, glad its not only me heh

Hyou Vizer

Like with each update. Might take an hour or two depending on how much I skip. Before, I took a break from it when we got a new artist. I started back reading like recently. Takes about a whole day for me to read and complete all the routes. Great job so far!!! Both of you. :)

Antonio

Quick estimate: Beginning of the three-digits. I'm a slow player that tends to replay routes when there are like three new days I haven't played yet. And I take my time to put myself into MC's position. (I'm also quite a slow reader when it comes to [non-visual] novels.)

BassPuppy

Honestly, I barely play them frequently as the updates are usually small. Not that I'm claiming it is a bad thing, but I can't play the same route multiple times without a lot of new content to go through.

Ryan Ellison

I'm trying my best to limit my time as much as possibly mainly because it's just so good it crushes me when I get to that this is all for now message and I'm left needing more so far I've only pushed Coach and Specner's line to their max for their first intimate scene. I really want to wait until it's finished before I well and truly get invested into it because it's just so hard to deal with that what happens next feeling lol

ArcTheWolf

Easily over 20+ hours. I've replayed the game probably 5 times for each route.

Twister212

definetly 20 h + because i did every character atleast 3 times just to see what happens if i use different dialog options lol

Amaru

I usually spent around 10-12h on each route when I play them all over again, I do this around once every major update. So, if I only include my favourite guys, Spencer and Dozer, that would go up to 60 hours between them both. Thanks for the good times I had witht he game

Lanwolf

In my case it’s like this. I need around 15-16h per route. Multiplay it by 5 (routes you can choose from) then by 5 because it is how many times I played one route. Every time I see something new and I imagine myselfe there as a panda bear character. They are my favorite one 😀 and lately I can’t stop playing Chester route. Je is 100% my type of guy. Great work so far and I can’t wait for grane finale in each routes.

Jack

My computer has been acting up since I downloaded it (unrelated) so I haven't been able to play it as much as I'd like

Guhreth

I got like 10 hours on chester's route redoing it cause i didnt skip anything. On average i should have 100s of hours on this game @__@ come to think of it, when this game is complete at least with the current five characters, i'd imagine each route would take 15 hours at least. this game already has quite the amount of content and replay value especially for a visual novel of sorts. definitely get your money's worth and them some with it that's for sure

Hyou Vizer

I have to admit, with each new update I play each character's route again from the start. That way I can immerse myself in the story completely and I get to see if any backgrounds / images have been added in or changed. I love this game so much, I really hope that we'll perhaps get more than a month for each character? That would be beyond amazing! Their stories are just that good. Or maybe even some bonus written novels / stories about the rest of their lives together after the game. I don't want it to end...

Honestly too much time, but its well worth my time! I gone over Harold, chester, and Dozers route so many times for the feels and nostalgia its actually addicting. To me its like dating my future potential BF. Something to uplift me when im not in the best mindset. A motivation to know what im looking for and what can become reality if I look hard enough and keep pushing on. (Sappy truth aside) Too much time, but worth it in the end always will be!

Kevinsora

Since you put such juicy stuff in the game, i can say i went twice for all the characters :)

Gutsyrabbit

makes me kind of sad that this will end at some point.

Cozzy

With each update I've played since being a patron, and having to occasionally restart routes: over 30hrs at this point. Though, it's a pretty good game, to put that much time into it. I've loved it so far, and I'm looking forward to seeing it progress further. Which reminds me of a question I had, I think I remember it being said that the main routes will be a month long by the end of each route. But, does that mean we'll get further add-ons to the routes (aside from the side routes like Richard's), or no?

With each updat3 at least 30 to 1 hr. Mainly depends on how many choices their are and if i feel how much they change things

Bunnylover

I really enjoyed trying the game out when I first discovered it and spent hours checking out the multiple dialogue options. I've been holding off so far now though until it's completed so it'll feel all fresh and new! I'm really excited and will definitely be spending 20+ hours exploring the revamped, finished game!

Probably at least 20+ hours on every and each route ;) Probably shorter time intervals now since I'm mostly fast-forwarding to the latest update lately.

Griffonheart

I'd say about 30 to 40 hours. Granted a lot of that is me having to restart routes over from the very beginning a lot due to bugs.

The Entire State of Wisconsin

I've easily played more then 20 hours on Chester's route alone, same with Harold and dozer, also I've been getting into Spencer's route a couple of times, so somewhere around at least 100 hours...Heh, what can I say? I love the game<3

GlithcedBear97

Considering every time a new day is added, I replay the entire route from the start (by choice), I'd say at least 20 hours. Heck, it's probably been at least ten times that by now.

Bobby Thornbody

I've put at least 35 hours into this novel, so far. I hope we will get a eat to convince Spencer to either do Tennis or continue to work at Dynamite Springs, but the only way to be able to convince him to choose one is based on Love points and maybe Trust points as a possibility? I know it most likely won't happen, but I would personally prefer Spencer to continue at Dynamite Springs than do Tennis. Just because Spencer is a very exciting and fun character that he deserves to do something that makes him feel alive, then play Tennis and go back to that "Good Boy" image he claims to have.

I've played through them all once, then a second for Harold and Chester following a guide, so about 15-20 I think.

Cam

it's gotta be at least a few days at this point.

Vivienne

Darius <3

Tangakwunu

More than 20... Especially Harold's route. What can I say. I love that Bruin X'D!!

Xeralex

I've replayed the Game for like 15 Times, each time Took me around 4-5 Hours... So Yeah :D

Choky

I'd say more than 20 hours. I've done every route except Darius so far, and haven't gotten back around to playing again since the update that fixed his sprite issue

Vailen

Over the years, along with redoing routes, way beyond 20

Enzo

I'd say 10-15

Easily more than 20 hours; easily more than 100....honestly I stopped counting lol ;-)

Jay Paul Mayer

Especially for Spencer <3
