Doing some monstrous research!

October is coming up fast, and this information may or may not come in handy, but I'm curious about which of these monsters are some of the favorites!  Some things might no be as monstery as the others, but they are still somewhat considered a monster!

Sorry if I don't get them all in here, but if you have something not listed that you like, just leave a comment!

And you can vote multiple times ;)

I'm curious how a stone golem would even... work. Got faith this guy can make it happen though. πŸ‘

I think that your artistic interpretation of a pseudo-Lovecraftian style cryptid - either as a individual concept or as an addition of any of the above - would be a very, very interesting idea. I not entirely sure how difficult it would be to translate the inscrutable yet mercurial nature of such a being into an illustration, but I think that it would be fascinating to see an attempt.

Matthew S Brajevich

honestly it can be anything as long as it's chubby with some sweaty stanky balls. at least in my opinion

Chubba

I think you read too far into the point of this post x3

DyneWulf

A good choice ;3

DyneWulf

Hum, that's a unique to explore!

DyneWulf

Another friend mentioned that one to me, and I thought it was an interesting choice ;3

DyneWulf

Nothing wrong with a big green Brutish Orc Like Ogram or Korg , yeah you know who I mean.

Peterwolf

Ha Ha nothing wrong with werewolves being everywhere. Awoooo.

Peterwolf

Seconded, Orc or minotaur, demon or dragon sounds better.

PaleAngel_90

I'm a massive Orc-botherer. πŸ’š Gimmie them big, green and mean boiz any time. 😍

Myneghon

IMO, as hot as werewolves are, they’re everywhere. I’d rather have something different

badaimrac00n

Werebears ;3c !!

Most of the entries on this list aren't actually monstrous, especially in a scenario where anthropomorphic characters are common. Minotaurs and Lizard People are basically just another person while Orcs are a staple of most fantasy settings to the point they can be easily the main character. There is no reason for any of these to be considered monstrous. Stone Golems are fantasy robots, though their uncaring and very goal oriented nature can make them appear monstrous in some situations. I'm not sure about Swamp Monsters and Faceless Creatures. Those would require further clarification. Demons, Vampires and Werebeasts are where "monstrosity" really comes into play. Demons are manifestations of peoples negative emotions and desires and want you to indulge in whatever they stand for so that they can claim your soul. Vampires pretend to be your average person while actually preying on you for their own survival. Werebeasts occasionally transform in body and mind into a semi-feral state and have mostly little if any awareness and control over this process. These fellows can be truly frightening.

Noctum28

Yet uncommon. Somehow when one says vampire, immediately a slim or twink'y guy pops to mind. Is how media has portrayed them for so long i guess

AndovarEdoras

burly vampires can be a thing...

Regonoreth

Hehe the audience wants "bara" monsters, hence why vampires are low and something like werewolf, minotaur and orc is on the top of the list :D

AndovarEdoras

I've been making this spider character. Perhaps make arachnids?

NikoElys

I've never seen stone Golem on a list before. I would definitely consider that one. Also, Gargoyles like everyone else is saying .

Damion Andrew

Awrr not so many voted for swamp monster :<

GatorFlare

Picked a couple options that called to me and as for other werebeasts, I'm rather partial to a werebear ;-)

Naesaki Ashwell

I totally should have put gargoyles on there, but... stone golems!

DyneWulf

I mean, that's fine ;3

DyneWulf

Centaurs 😌🀚

Mr_Apples6747

I concur, Gargoyles

JTalbain

GARGOYLES

Regonoreth

Gargoyles. It’s not on the list. But I don’t care. Also Centaurs

I voted for everything... but I have a feeling that's not very helpful lol
