- Darius Day 29 - Your first full day back with him after your camping trip! What kind of stuff is he going to be up to for the day?
- Added a couple of new BGs in with this update from Gavel. I finally have a new Tennis court background for when players stand OUTSIDE the courts. It's been one on my mind for a while now, and I have it! I have a lot of updating to do with that one. The bookstore also got an update.
- With the approach of October, I'd like to go ahead and make folks aware of how I usually do things for that month (if you're new anyway!). Each year, I take October off from working on EA to work on a mini project. CaptainGerBear works with his Tuskbuddy Exchange all month, so instead of making updates with no art assets, I work with another artist in doing something else. Generally, it's a time for me to experiment and try new things (play styles and art styles).
Last year was with Gavel and Endless Bounty. This year, I'm trying out something different once more. I'll share a little more detail about that as time gets closer, but I wanted to let you all know that after the Chester update on the 1st of October, EA updates will not resume until November 16th. And don't forget, all October Patrons will have access to the project that I complete during October.
- This brings me to anther note. I still get a lot of folks asking about Richard. I said I'd start on him after finishing a route, and Coach's route is done! It still needs some extra work done on it, but his route has ended. Now, Chester and Spencer's routes are also both ending soon, both only have 2 updates left. With that happening, I'll be down to Dozer, Darius... and Richard. I'll keep working in housekeeping updates with those three to continue touching up and updating art on the other routes, so I can start working on Richard like a normal route.
- Thanks so much for the continued support with typos and other errors with the Google Docs page. It helps tremendously! Don't forget, you can post image errors there too (just keep in mind, the transition we are going through). Please keep errors posted to the reports page and not in comments/messages to me~

My curiosity got the better of me and I decided to play through Darius's route... selecting every obviously not the right choice... what I'm left with now was immense sadness and anxiety oof. That was so hard to witness, and so relatable honestly. And I'm sure it'll be even more painful if I try it again for his next update... I feel so bad to put these characters through that just to see what happens, I've gotta go back and read the happy route to make up for it. Keep up the good work the writing is great!!

He's lonely, and longing for real connection and oooh, it's so satisfying when he lets Eric in!! Can't wait to see what's next. I hope this story has a lot left to explore, as it's only just beginning to bloom.

2020-09-20 23:56:40 +0000 UTCId describe this update as Majestic and Surprising. Some interesting new reveals. No but really, as another comment has pointed, his character growth is just massive.. It actually makes the other ones seem much weaker, considering with them it was just "hi lets be bf? yes. kay i luv you too", without much build-up or tension.. And im pretty sure it also took the longest to get to his intimate moments, even tho he is the iconic "sexual deviant" of the story. Quite ironic haha. But i was right to think he would be my fav, and he really did end up being the mvp. Sidenote.. we'd better be getting a good view of that tiger x wolf situation hehe

I even thought he would be the most unlikely one I wanted to do so I thought I get his route out of the way first. WHAT A BACKFIRE THO. There's such a feeling of uncovering his truth that felt so genuine and i'm totally waiting to see how we're going to get him more flustered in the future updates :3

Then, the more routes I played, the more I realized Darius is always there helping the MC get what he wants, so he is actually a good friend, a really nice guy disguised as a sexual deviant. That's some smart writing! His route was the last one I played, and he became instantly my second favourite! I'd totally put a ring on his finger. Or somewhere else, that's up to him.

Darius goes from being the horniest horn-ball to ever horny to being one of the most affectionate and genuine characters in the game. He goes through some of- if not THE most growth and development over the course of his route than any other character in the game. And that mane! Oh~, was that a wonderful touch; he looks so majestic with it! I can't help but wonder whether this is the most we'll see of the mane or if it might grow more, yet. It used to be so easy to just write Darius off as some pervy jerk-off, but over the course of the game's development, his true nature has been steadily revealed across all the routes. He's gone from just another horny deviant to the king of Chaotic Good antics! He always tries to do right by the people around him in the way he thinks is best for them, no matter how ridiculous or embarrassing that might end up being for him or how much of an ass he'll have to make of himself, and that's by far one of his best character traits. You know, lately I've been thinking a lot about what's going to happen to these characters after their eventual "Happily Ever After" at the end of the game. I feel like Darius would be a great dad, you know? I'd bet that if ANY story would eventually lead to the whole ideal "Big Happy Family" sort of scenario, it would be Darius' route. Just imagine, a big house built out in the country, the pitter-patter of small feet on a Sunday morning as the kids go to wake up their dads; Darius plays away on the piano while Eric cooks a big family pancake breakfast for everyone, a Sunday tradition; the little-ones are excited because Uncle Spencer is coming over today to join them on the family camping trip all week! If there'd ever be something like a series of epilogue comics or stories, or a DLC with a collection of scenarios that take place after the happy endings, I'd absolutely get it just to see everyone in that sort of dreamy domestic family life type scenario. Darius is such a sentimental and caring dork under all that bravado and it's really cute to think about how that particular aspect of him will grow and become a more prevalent part of his character approaching and after the end of his route.

This was so sweet and passionate, and very rewarding, because Darius, despite his bravado, is quite sensitive. :hearts:

See the thing is at least with Darius he becomes SUPER jealous not just because he wants you but he still has the unresolved issues with him as well and seeing Darius get the chance but he does not adds up. Dozer's route im still not sure if its him pushing boundaries or trying to entice you on to him but at the end of the day its his I wont take the chance attitude that screws him. Don't get me wrong in his own way he is charming and very affable with Eric but I just get rubbed the wrong way when he gives you shit about being homeless but he keeps his job super secretive. Like the hell? You think being a Dancer/Stripper is judged worse than being homeless? Eric had every right to keep that to himself. People literally deadass treat you way different knowing your homeless. Maria is a sainted angel for running a place like that and helping where and how she can. After that pushing his injury and lying about what dozer told him, The teacher calling darius unsavory and how he treated his brother at first at the wedding and I was like. This guy places far too much importance on the image and clearly holds on to being petty WAY too much. Fantasy aside if this was real life Spence would end up losing Eric. Accepting flaws is a natural thing and no one is perfect but those flaws will lead to someone getting a broken heart.

This totally changes my perception of him now in all the other routes in a "this is some good ass writing" kind of way. God this route is so fucking good. So many things make sense now I'm just still reeling and probably will be for a while. On an semi related note tell CGB to stop making all the dads hot.

I had to restart the route for the usual reasons, however, round about day 20 or so, I kept getting errors and having to ignore them. At one point, while swimming with Darius in the pool for the first time, I hit D to swim and the gate actually auto reoladed on me, then gave me an error. Errors popped up every now and then up until day 29, where Darius referred to me as [player-name]. . . during sex, which was. . .weird. I'm hoping the errors won't keep happening as I'm not sure how much I've missed out on, but it shouldn't be all that much.
