I just wanted to give you all a heads up, but thanks to Apple's shenanigans, I am being forced to update my billing model to comply.
What does that mean? Simply put, folks will get billed each month on the day they signed up. You signed up on the 10th, and you get billed on the 10th. It won't be the first of the month every time now (for NEW MEMBERS). That doesn't seem to be a big deal.
The big deal is folks that subscribe to Patreon with the iOS app get hit with bigger fees now. I don't make iOS builds for my projects anyway, but that doesn't mean folks don't use iOS to use Patreon.
I've seen some people mention that you can always circumvent that by either pledging on a PC or using a browser on your iOS instead of the app, but I can't verify that myself. It would be a real shame for Apple if that worked to avoid the extra fee.
Anyway, the impact is primarily to NEW members and iOS users using the Patreon app. All -current- Patrons will still be billed on the first, but if you cancel and join again, it will change billing to be the day you pledge.
I just wanted to make you guys all aware of this before it happens!
Thanks, folks!
