New Eonis design (?)

Throwing ideas and sketches on how to de-pokefy Eonis, a smeargle character I had back in a PMD group who is also Aedis’ partner.

My first go at it back then was a poodle.

Which was alright on its own but it’s kinda weird to have Aedis, a creature not based off any irl animals, to be with a poodle.

Second try (second image) is so make a furry creature still but having a different body shape from smeargle. I achieved it but also in the end, it still kinda feels too much like smeargle until Shelly on twitter suggested I try for a cephalopod approach, which honestly idk why I didn’t do that immediately given that I also love Splatoon and its characters.

So yeah, here is Eonis. Atleast for now. Still potentially gonna change him but perhaps not by much. I still gotta draw him over and over and over until I have a nice grasp on how I like him to be designed as well as the colors. For now, enjoy these sketches.
