EMERALD CROWN IS COMING WE SWEAR - Complications, burnout, and what's in store for the next month

Here's what's up. We are... very tired, and our lives have been kinda hard these past few weeks. I'm moving countries, Alvar is getting a new computer, and we've had so many "small" complications its not even funny anymore. Just for funsies (and cause I gotta vent), here's a lil list of the things that plagued us this month:

• Discord decided to stop hosting image links, so every single image we had on every single entry broke. So our editable backlog of page formatting options is all but gone.

• Our payment system broke down, some issue with our service provider

• Our hosting site decided to stop notifying us on sales!!! we made a bunch of customers very angry very fast as the autodelivery broke down and they thought they got scammed

• Reddit decided to change their interface (it's terrible now) which tanked engagement ON EVERY SUBREDDIT ON PLANET EARTH OMG

• UA (r/UnearthedArcana) made a pretty damning resolution about AI that hit us very hard. This has resulted in a considerable drop in engagement with the sub in general, which in turn makes our content reach less people (ouch)

• We are now an actual company (who would have thought), which comes with its own set of issues (legal things we were definitely not ready for)

• And to top it all off, a bunch of personal issues we won't get into in this post

This, combined with the fact February is a shorter month and we were already late on our previous entry, has made us late for the Emerald Crown's release date. If everything goes alright, we will publish tomorrow. We humbly apologize :(

Our little issues are becoming big issues, however, and we... need to take care of them. Kinda urgently. We are changing payment service providers, creating a new website, and establishing ourselves as a real official company.

We are also going to plan our next products with more time and care, to make these entries shine even brighter, and start creating an interconnected narrative, with a bigger world and lots more to give! We are lore writers, after all, and we want to make the Codex of Strings into an actual living-and-breathing universe, filled with amazing stories of all kinds. Maybe we'll do a Kickstarter. We got plans!!

ALL THIS TO SAY, we are taking a break.

We'll pause your subscriptions as soon as we release Emerald Crown, and we'll continue product development on April. We need this time to get our affairs in order, make some pretty significant life changes, and most of all, take it slow for a while. There is no easy way to say this, but after 10 months of creating these entries, we're kinda burned out. It's getting harder to come up with new exciting stuff as of late.

What does this mean for your subscription?

Nothing, really. Each and every one of you will skip payment once, no matter when you subscribed. We will still post some things during the month, including a very experimental Threadmaster Entry that has been in the works for a while now, and PERHAPS an actual video, so you guys can see our cute little faces :3

So yes, that's pretty much it. We are very sorry for the delay, Emerald Crown will probably be up tomorrow, and its one hell of an entry, perhaps our best work yet. We really hope you enjoy it!!

TL;DR: Emerald Crown is a couple of days late, and we are taking a one month break afterwards to get our operational affairs in order.

We love you guys. Thanks for you support. The only reason why this project even exists is because of you, and your generous patronage. We hope you will choose to continue supporting us in the future, and we can promise you, our content shall grow ever better! Ariadne's Codex of Strings is still just 10 months old.
