Over the past few days, I've been working on adding the room extension to the villa that I've already mentioned.
I have made another before/after video so that you can see again which new objects I have added to the game (https://youtu.be/C92EzqbBa3s). All the objects you see in the rooms were completely created by myself.
I figured out that this is the best way for me to have full control over the design and especially the performance. Most 3d models you can buy or even download for free are either not exactly what I'm looking for, ugly (I've seen some really bad things...) or are completely unperformant because they have way too much unnecessary detail that would negatively impact the game's performance. And simplifying a complex model to make it game-ready can take more time than building it from scratch (that is at least my experience).
In my opinion, the use of optimized models is essential. Let's be honest: when you're playing with the girls, what's more important: that the cupboard next to you (which you probably won't be looking at very closely anyway) has tons of details and an 8K texture or that it looks good and the game runs as smoothly as possible? In any case, the performance vs. beauty aspect is very complex when it comes to creating a real-time 3d game.
I think there has to be a balance between performance and beautiful visuals. And I try to focus the latter on the important objects, such as girls' bodies.
As you can see, the two new rooms (your office and Jessica's room) are practically finished. I might add a few more decorations here and there, but the overall layout remains as it is.
With the addition of your bathroom in release v0.8.0, the empty rooms in your villa are becoming fewer and fewer and you can do more and more.
My next task on the way to the next release is to create the promised way to earn money. As already indicated in the video, this will happen through the use of your laptop. So you will be working in your office. I will show you a detailed description of how this is going to work and a few screenshots in the next post.
