I'm coming out of my developer pit once again and want to show you something nice!
My work on the game's new main menu system is slowly coming to an end. There are still a few small bugs I need to fix, but it's already working!
I have recorded a short video exclusively for you, dear patron, so that you can get an idea of the new look and feel.
To integrate the new graphics options, I had to expand the existing menu. As I had been planning to rework everything for a while now, I decided to do both in one single step.
The new menu now looks much more professional and appears more open than the old one. The main menu has been given a fully animated background, a new layout and plenty of space for the current (still few) and future options.
The menu is now designed to provide unlimited space for option controls, as a scroll bar is shown when not all controls can be displayed in their window at once.
Plus, there's now a nice and cozy loading screen that presents you nice screenshots from the game and some clever tips about the game while you wait...
The new graphics settings (also shown in the video):
You can now switch the game to windowed mode. This also gives you the option to move the game from one screen to another if you are using multiple monitors: If you set the game to full screen, it will use the monitor you have moved it to (works at least on my machine).
Vsync can now also be turned on or off and there is now an fps counter in the game, which you can also switch on or off here.
The resolution can now also be set, as well as a frame rate limit. I have also added the option "unlimited" here. In my opinion, it makes no sense to set the frame rate limit higher than the monitor's refresh rate, but it might surely be a bit of fun to see how many frames your computer can achieve...
When I added the option to set the framerate and tested it, other technical difficulties came up, such as the mouse movement had to be made framerate-independent. There are also still some problems with the girls' breast physics, as these are calculated in real time.
But I'm also looking forward to getting on with Jessica's new story chapter after I've fixed all the little issues with the new menu system.
