Playing catch-up here, and maybe it's because it's something that affects me & my family, but the "vitilardo" joke has aged about as well as the 90s gay jokes. Auto-immune diseases have all sorts of side effects, and while people only see the skin blotches (and still accuse people of bleaching to "look cool"), vitiligo also brings liver problems & a generally weakened system. It probably would have killed Michael Jackson by making him more vulnerable to illness. You can read the joke as the writers poking fun at Oprah's prying question, but it also feels like they're mocking what most probably thought at that time was a made-up ailment. Sorry to come here with what feels like an "um, actually", but it's another joke that reminds me how much has changed since '94.
