The doom movie is one of my all time favorite bad movies, I'm so glad you guys brought it up so now I have an excuse to talk about it. The fact that they cast Karl Urban and the Rock (two people who should star in a doom movie) in an action movie based on a game where the story is basically Die Hard in space with demons and turned it into a sloppy story about the human genome and bio engineering boggles my mind. Demons aren't even part of the story, I can understand someone who is tasked with writing a video game movie basing their script off the cliff notes summary of the story but they didn't even do that and this is doom we're talking about the cliff notes version of that story equates to about as much text as a bazooka Joe comic. This movie also has my all time favorite bad movie quote where the woman playing Urban's sister asks him "Does it bother you you could have spent your life looking through a micro scope instead of your sniper scope?" Urban makes a face after that line is delivered which perfectly encapsulates "who the fuck writes this shit?". I still love this movie though and probably watch it about once a year (as you can guess I do not value my time) not only because it's wonderfully bad but as much as I hate to admit this movie more or less introduced me to the original Doom or at least the "Doom nation" documentary on the special features did. So this movie will always have a special place in my heart for introducing me to one of my favorite games of all time, sorry for being off topic I just have no where else to talk about this movie. 2018-03-24 23:39:56 +0000 UTCI am incredibly happy that you guys are having someone from WHM as a guest on an episode. That is my absolute favorite podcast and has been for about six years now. I used to live in the same NYC neighborhood and would run into them occasionally, as well as check out all of their live dates and chat with them. They’re great guys, and their podcast is the really the best around. Between them, 80s All Over, Talking Simpsons, and all the LT produced content, my weeks are really stacked with amazing things to listen to. I can’t wait to find out who it is, and listen to my two mega-powers colliding (wrestling reference, hopefully not going unnoticed). I love that you guys are fans and support one another. If you want to hate listen to a podcast that (as Andrew Jupin would say, “sucks a dog’s ass”) you should check out this podcast called Film Snuff, if you haven’t already. Just don’t subscribe to it. Haha. There are good comedy shows about movies, but this one fails miserably.
