I’m weeks late here but I just want to say a few years into my Japan life my coworkers invited me out for fugu and my Simpsons memories spooked me so much a LITERALLY wrote a will before dinner. I lived. I’ve had it a couple times since so I can vouch for its safety but it’s not especially tasty in my opinion, there are much better fish out there with a near-zero chance of poisoning you. But hey, next time you visit Japan I’ll fugu you if you want it!
