(Feel free to tell us your pick in the comments!)

Talking Simpsons Season Seven Wrap Up!

I think my favourite episode of the season might be Homer the Smithers because of the great Burns we get in it, while my least favourite is easily Homerpalooza for similar reasons said on that episode. I would have said Home Sweet Homediddly-Dum-Doodily beforehand, but that's got a couple of awesome gags that push it over for me (like "I LOVE YOU PA" "I LOVE YOU CLETUS"). -- For the podcast, this season was phenomenal - loved the extra long episodes and awesome guests!

Totally agree on Milhouse. He absolutely killed it this season for me. I couldn't stop laughing from all his scenes in "Summer of 4'2"" and "Radioactive Man". Most favorite: Lisa the Vegetarian (still my favorite Simpsons episode of all time). Too many jokes that still resonate with me to this day. Runner ups are 22 Short Films and Summer of 4'2". (The latter might be recency bias coming into play.) I'm more of a jokes person rather than look at the overall picture, so if a line sticks in my head for a long time then it overpowers whether the plot was weak. Least favorite: Homerpalooza. To me this is where the "Gasp! You're (add name here)!" became really tired. It doesn't help that Smashing Pumpkins were really bad with line delivery. Peter Frampton was superb though. Needs more Frampton! Runner Up: Two Bad Neighbors. I loved the Dennis the Menace cartoon/comics as a kid, but even when I watched it for the first time the jokes kinda fell flat. We did get Disco Stu from it though. So far season 7 is (and was) my favorite. 6 and 8 are close seconds though. We'll see if 8 holds up in

I absolutely agree with Milhouse being the MVP of the season. Radioactive Man is a classic in large part thanks to him and he comes through with big laughs on so many other episodes. 22 Short Films feels like the easy choice for best episode, but it's hard to compete with its rapid fire jokes and treasure trove of memes. Runner-ups would be King-Size Homer, Bart Sells His Soul, and Who Shot Mr Burns Part 2. For least favorite I have to go with Scenes From the Class Struggle in Springfield. As a teenager who was poor, I sort of understood the yearning to be seen as someone 'above your station'. As a middle-class adult who's accepted he's an introvert I see trying to fit in with the upper crust of society as more trouble than it's worth. In both instances I felt really uncomfortable watching Marge be so stern with her family. I also don't like 'Two Bad Neighbors'. Homer and Bart are just so unlikable.

Picking a favorite out of these episodes is really tough. I am going to go with Lisa the Iconoclast, as the quasi-spiritual successor to Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington, one of my favorites from Season 3. Least favorite is Two Bad Neighbors. In a season dominated by great to excellent episodes, this one was still good, but it never resonated with me.

Oh! Handiman on In Living Color. He ... tried. He had good intentions? You two talking about the length of your google docs reminded me too much of thesis writin' in college. "how many pages do you have?" "ooh, I have ___ pages!" Hellfish is my least favorite because it moves so slowly, and the kids living at the Flanders is my favorite.

I agree 100% Marge Be Not Proud is definitely the best episode of season 7, and possible one of the best episodes ever. soooo many good quotes too, I could probably quote the whole damn thing by this point.

Strong disagree on the Bart on the Road one. It's a fun picaresque sort of episode, and a great quartet of kids to pair up.

Interestingly my favorite and least favorite episodes are kinda connected and are basically at odds with each other. I know different teams probably worked on each so it might not be fully fair to compare them, but just based on this season especially it feels weird. Favorite Episode: Marge Be Not Proud - A very seriously-taken Bart episode that shows great depth to him and Marge. This is one of the first episodes I feel Bart grew as a character, because even though he did bad things in the past and felt bad after, this fully explored that and took it really strong. Least Favorite Episode: Bart on the Road - So hey let's have Bart do an even BIGGER set of crimes and he and his friends don't get punished or really feel any guilt. Also let's use Marge's nativity and loneliness as more of a gag than a plot exploration. Bart only panics and feels bad when he's stranded, but as soon as Lisa helps him out there's nothing else. How is this episode int he same season and came after Marge Be Not Proud?
