Unfortunately like much of Marge's cooking, her jelly bean cookies sound real gross (though probably several steps up from imitation gruel). I agree with y'all that the counselors were played kind of strangely. I feel like the stereotype of camp counselors is a bunch of teens just constantly trying to hook up with each other and largely ignoring the kids themselves. Plus as you pointed out, they never get their comeuppance! Addams Family Values (from the same era) had a better take on kids getting their revenge at a shitty camp

That includes the tradition of spending exorbitant amounts of money on fresh strawberries drowned in whipped cream and drinking a Pimm's cup even if you'd never touch a gin-based cocktail 360 days a year.
