Like you guys I dismissed American Dad as Family Guy 1.5 for years until a friend's consistent recommendations prompted me to give it another shot. I quickly fell in love with the show, especially once they let Roger go off the rails. I binged all the Christmas episodes a few years ago when I was at my mother-in-law's house one Christmas Eve. Without anywhere quiet to hide until dinner was ready it was a nice distraction from all the chatter and chaos around me. My favorite was "Rapture's Delight".
