Speaking on the subject of live Christmas trees. They can go several weeks without shedding needles, if you water them everyday. They don't have to be wasteful either. Trees grown on a tree farm help to clean the air and can even help animals during the cold months. There's a farm near my home that asks people for their Christmas trees after the holidays so their goats can have fresh snacks to eat throughout the winter. Artificial trees, comparatively, take a ton of time to set up and disassemble, and are also made of plastics and artificial materials that will inevitably end up in the dump, and stay there for decades to come.
