This is going to be a tough episode to hear because Kiki will always be the last memory I'll ever have of Phil Hartman before his death. It's hard to describe how shocking it was to learn of Hartman passing because he was so ubiquitous to everyone who grew up in the 90's. He was everywhere so you'd assumed he' be around forever, whether it be a speaking role in a cartoon or feeding lines to Schwarzenegger in some bad comedy. Even after twenty years it's like a knife in my heart when Jiji goes quiet and never talks to Kiki again in this movie. I wish my favorite Ghibli movie wasn't also a goodbye to him. Oh Phil, if only there were more people like you in the world.
