After Today you'll be seeing eye to eye with us on this film's greatness!
Well there was a Blu Ray but it was only released through the Disney Movie Club, whatever the hell that is... seems to be a limited release. At least it seems to be in HD and widescreen on disney+

First podcast episode I listened to after subscribing. One of my first movies I ever watched in a theater. Thanks for the deep dive on this!

Amazing podcast!! I too was around that same age and my mom bought it for me for my birthday around the start of junior high. I related so much to this movie in a lot of ways.

I watched A Goofy Movie for the first time because of this episode. And while I admire and respect the work that went into the movie, I don't like the movie. I can't really explain why I don't like it. There are some funny parts, some emotional parts and Bigfoot. But I just wasn't entertained. Maybe if I had seen it when I was 10 and it had just come out, I'd have liked it more. Either way, thank you Bob and Henry for exposing me to a film that I would otherwise probably never have seen.

I rented this for $3.99 on YouTube in 480p (first time I can say I've ever done that) and despite the quality not being great, I had a blast with a movie I must not have seen since I was 3 or 4 years old

I was born in 1982, so that makes me the same age as Bob and Henry. When this movie came out, I was not watching as many animated movies, so I never saw it until now for the podcast. I think that maybe that "leaning tower of Cheese-a joke" kind of gave me the wrong impression about the movie from the trailers. So, I have to say that I was blown away by how good this film is. From the animation to the pacing to the surprisingly true to life emotional chords it strikes, it seems like all the right decisions were made during production. In the mid 90s, that was my peak time for having the morbid fear of being seen with my parents. My dad was Goofy, in a lot of ways, even making the voice when I told him he was embarrassing me. I'm happy I was able to outgrow that phase, recognizing that the kindness of my father was a trait that far outranks any passing idea of coolness.

My wife and I put on a kids (or nostalgic) movie to fall asleep to every night, and this is one of my favorites. Easily in my top 5 Disney.
Let me also HIGHLY suggest watching "David Lynch's A Goofy Movie" trailer cut on youtube. It is amazing.

I loved this movie as a kid and thoroughly enjoyed this podcast. Thank you thank you thank you for doing more Disney instead of anime. What an underrated film that never got the attention it deserved during its first run. Hope everyone upgrades to premium tier! Thanks again you guys. And I think this treatment showed that you don't always need a special guest host.

For UK listeners with Sky TV, the version on my Xbox One "Sky Player" appears to be the proper widescreen version. ^_^

This movie gets to me a lot, especially now that I'm older.
My relationship with my Dad was very difficult at times growing up, especially as I got older and our tastes and views started to diverge A LOT. I spent years feeling like a disappointment to him, something that I didn't resolve until I was well into my adult years.
Looking back though, especially now that I have children of my own, I can think of so many occasions where he came through and really put effort into doing right by me. I wish I had been able to appreciate it when I was younger and in the moment. There's a lot of more of him in me than I ever would have imagined when I was a resentful teenager.
