What A Cartoon! - The March 2019 Schedule

Spring is about to sprung on the Talking Simpsons Network, and have we got some cool stuff planned! Biggest of all, on March 15  we'll be launching our King of the Hill miniseries this month for all our $5+ subscribers!!! Yes, on the Ides of March we'll premiere the first official podcast of "TalKing of the Hill." And a new podcast will debut every Friday on the Patreon until Bob and Henry have covered the 12 episodes of Mike Judge's inaugural season of Fox comedy! Light up your propane tank and get some WD40 ready for 12 wonderful weeks of TalKing of the Hill for all Simpsons Network subscribers at the $5+ level. (And check out the pilot podcast right here for free!)

But that's just the start of the fun! In March we have four brand new What A Cartoon! podcasts coming your way! This month has a mix of big guests and patron picks to make for an electic bunch of original Nicktoons/modern Cartoon Network/double dose of Adult Swim all in one month. If you want to start preparing to watch along with us, here's the full schedule for the next month, along with suggestions on where to watch the shows (at least in the United States).

Here's what's on the schedule for March:

Doug - "Doug Takes the Case/Doug's Secret Song" [Patreon Date: 3/4/19 - Free Feed Date 3/11/19]

Ooo eee ooo, killer podcast coming your way to start the month. Bob and Henry are going back to the third of the original Nicktoons from 1991, and watching the second season premiere. We'll talk beets, journals, large cargo shorts, and so much more, alongside a special guest who is an expert in Nickelodeon. Classic Doug episodes are currently on Hulu in the US, so check it out here and try a 30-day free trial today!

OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes  - "T.K.O.'s House/Crossover Nexus" [Patreon Date: 3/11/19 - Free Feed Date 3/18/19]

It's time for our most massive episode of What A Cartoon! to date, as this episode is all about OK K.O.! We'll be discuss two different episodes of the currently-airing Cartoon Network, and Bob and Henry will be joined by our buddies Ian Jones-Quartey and Toby Jones, respectively, the creator and co-executive producer of the series! We dig deep into how the show was dreamed up, how it changed over the seasons, and just what makes the series so funny and special! You can find the show on Hulu right now! (And if you want a free 30-day trial of Hulu, sign up here!)

Tom Goes To The Mayor - "Bear Trap Brothers/Surprise Party" [Patreon Date: 3/18/19 - Free Feed Date 3/25/19]

The first of two Adult Swim classics this month (and first of two premium patron requests), we start with the show that gave Tim and Eric their start. Animated in the loosest of terms, Tom Goes To The Mayor is such an incredibly weird show full of famous people and comedy nerd favorites, all in the most disgusting town on Earth. Watch as Tom is a doormat to everyone he meets, and as The Mayor has increasingly wacky/murderous plans! The whole series is currently available on the Adult Swim website.

The Boondocks - "The Garden Party" [Patreon Date: 3/25/19 - Free Feed Date 4/1/19]

And we're closing out the month with another premium patron pick, The Boondocks! One of the highest rated shows in Adult Swim history, the comic strip adaptation brought race and politics to the forefront of the mature animation block. It dealt with thorny topics all while being full of anime references that any nerd can appreciate. We're watching the first episode, and the full series can be found right now on Hulu!

So many awesome podcasts are coming your way in March, which you'll hear first and ad-free as a Patreon supporter. Not to mention TalKing of the Hill coming March 15! And don't forget that this month will feature a new What A Cartoon Movie! for $10+ patrons (check out our free preview of A Goofy Movie episode!). We've got so much awesome stuff heading your way on the Talking Simpsons Network, your spring will get started out right!

Well I listening to the Tom Goes to the Mayor episode & ordered the dvd off Amazon unfortunately disc 1 didn't work they sent a replacement didn't work. Good show but I wish I had a disc 1 that works.

This is going to be an excellent month! Thank you!

Angel

Also, I hope you guys finally give a shout out to Mike Judges Tales from the Tourbus during Talking of the Hill

Andrew Giachetti

I also think the garden party is the safest episode for them to discuss, given how controversial and unapologetic the show can be. I was hoping they would do the R Kelly Episode given how its suddenly super relevant again, not to mention how great adam west is in that episode, plus its probably the least controversial episode looking back in 2019. That said, I would have loved to see the red ball, the fundraiser, or the hateocracy. I love the complete zaniness of season 3.

Andrew Giachetti

oh damn, I just this post and I cant believe you guys actually going to do the boondocks, I had just assumed it would be too controversial a pick. The garden party is definitely one of the tamer ones, though I would have loved to see you guys do the the trial of R Kelly both for its unfortunate relevance, showing how the boondocks was out a head on that one, and for adam west's outstanding performance as R kelly's lawyer. Seriously, it may be my favorite thing Adam West has ever done, he's playing to the rafters.

Andrew Giachetti

It's a rum hand we've been dealt. For that I'm sympathetic, if not sorry.

Stuart Gipp

Unfair! You hardly know me, Stuart.

Doug Graham

Can't wait for that Boondocks ep. I hate Doug with a fiery passion but hopefully your coverage will assuage its fans. I may tape it and play it on a boombox to lure them out of town, like the Pied Piper but with a boring cartoon.

Stuart Gipp

I do like that one more, but I am glad he picked this episode because (this is why I also would've picked this one episode), if you could only talk about Boondocks once with one episode, this one has all the characters doing things that reflect them and big parts of the show. The MLK episode doesn't have any Riley, barely has Ruckus and Robert, so I think picking the Garden Party is a better "sum the series up" episode. Maybe they'll come back to it, but if they don't I'm glad it's this one episode chosen IMO.

ShyRanger

I'm happy it's here, but I'm a little sad it isn't the MLK episode which is probably the best episode of the entire series.

SilkiePJ

Sorry about that, being in the US makes it hard to know availability in other regions of the world, so we can't really suggest where else to find stuff. But if you can't find it legally in your territory, I feel that that's the owners way of endorsing and approving of piracy

Talking Simpsons

I know it's not your fault but almost everything you cover being on Hulu sure makes it a pain in the ass to follow your podcast as a non-American...

hibikase

Also, what does it take for a fella to get some Gravity Falls up in here?

Andrew Bouvier

I cannot wait for what I hope are searing, blistering takes on Doug.

Andrew Bouvier

oh so there's gonna be an episode April 1st huh... why do I suddenly not trust anything you'll say regarding that episode...

Devin Hoffarth

oh..Doug and Boondocks...fun

Frank Grimes

Well, technically every episode posts Monday morning, so the fifth episode would fall on April 1, so when we get to the April schedule, we'll let you know that one then. Thanks, Henry

Talking Simpsons

Hey wait, question. There are only 4 cartoons listed four WAC March, but there are 5 Sundays. What's the fifth one out of curiousity?

ShyRanger

Boondocks was on my list of future requests, that episode too. So thank you to whoever for helping me get through my list for me :)

ShyRanger

Tangentially related to Tom Goes To The Mayor, anyone who hasn't heard the Yellow River Boys album by Tim Heidecker is doing themselves a huge disfavor. It's the best piss-based roots rock album of all time.
