My older cousin 100% did the Back to the Future skateboarding-on-a-bumper trick. It worked great until the car sped up to get on the main road and he ended up too scared to let go- and let go way too late! He woke up in the hospital a few hours later, but managed to heal up well and didn’t suffer any serious permanent injuries, but we all know he was very lucky. That incident occurred when I was extremely young, and I only found out he tried that stunt when I watched Back to the Future with my parents as a tween and they saw my eyes light up as I saw that scene! My mom *immediately* told me to never do that, and then told me my cousins story as a warning. Which sort of worked, but also permanently cemented in my mind that my cousin was the coolest person in the world. Which, as he now owns a heavy metal record store in Atlanta, I still kind of think that.
