And if you want to start watching the animation now to get ready, here's the next four toons we'll be covering during May!

Captain Planet and the Planeteers - "A Hero for Earth"  [Patreon Date: 5/6/19 - Free Feed Date 5/13/19]

Nothing screams '90s feelgoodery more than Captain Planet, an environmentalist hero who can't be asked to get off his butt until he's summoned via the power of five rings. Captain Planet and the Planeteers exists as the sole cartoon creation of real-life Duke Phillips Ted Turner, who decided to use his billions for good by producing an action-adventure show about saving the environment. While it has a good heart, Captain Planet has aged into a perfectly fragrant piece of '90s cheese, and to close out the month of April, we'll be giving the glistening hero's mythical origins our official podcast treatment.

Captain Planet and the Planeteers isn't currently streaming anywhere, but you can buy individual episodes from plenty of different online sources like Amazon.

My Life As A Teenage Robot - "Sibling Tsunami & Tradeshow Showdown" [Patreon Date: 5/13/19 - Free Feed Date 5/20/19]

Rob Renzetti got his start on Cartoon Network's first original programming, but then in the early 2000s he headed to their top competitor, Nickelodeon. There he created a show with some of his coworkers from Dexter and Powerpuff Girls, an action comedy about a young adult automaton who just wants to be your average kid. Yes, per a request of one of our top Patreon supporters, we're doing a pair of episodes from My Life As A Teenage Robot, and we hope we're not too rusty!

Currently, this series is available on Hulu (if you live in America).

Emara - "Episode 1 and 2" [Patreon Date: 5/20/19 - Free Feed Date 5/27/19]

This one might seem a little unexpected, but that's because the YouTube original is a pick from one of our Premium Patreon subscribers. And it's fitting as this May is when Ramadan happens, perfectly fitting for covering the first hijab wearing superhero of the United Arab Emirates. How did Emara come to be and what are its anime influenced roots? We'll be digging in with a special guest.

Emara is one of our most widely available subjects as you can all six episodes on YouTube in multiple different languages.

Daffy Duck Classic Looney Tunes - "The Great Piggy Bank Robbery / Duck Amuck" [Patreon Date: 5/27/19 - Free Feed Date 6/3/19]

And we close out May with one more Premium Patron Pick, and this one has us singing a Merry Melody. Yes, we're doing our first classic Looney Tunes, and we're focusing on arguably the best of the bunch, Daffy Duck. We'll dig into the screwy bird's long history and go through two of the all-time greatest shorts to grace a movie screen: The Great Piggy Bank Robbery (aka the one with Duck Twacey) and Duck Amuck (aka "Ain't I A Stinker"). It's duck season on What A Cartoon! that week!!

Daffy Duck cartoons can be found for sale on places like Amazon or on the cable channel Boomerang or on some less legal streaming sites that are just a Google search away.

That's quite an eclectic mix of toons this month, and we know it'll only get bigger once the subject is chosen for the What A Cartoon! Movie we'll share with for $10+ patrons. Stick with us, because there'll be more fun to come, and even more episodes of TalKing of the Hill! See you next month!!!!

Looks like after a few tweets on Bob’s side doing research for Undergrads it’s getting pushed back. Oh well this month is incredibly stacked, can’t believe I went so long not being on the $10 level

Excellent choice! If I had access to that tier of sponsorship, teenage robot would have been high on my list too. Here's to excellent taste, stretchy arms, and extredo fingers!

Boomer Spacely

I chose that cartoon for them, so I'm glad to hear some expressing excitement for that upcoming episode, as am I.

ShyRanger

I used to love that marathon!

Frank Grimes

Very looking forward to the My Life as a Teenage Robot ep, especially since you guys went on about UPA style toons in the Clone High ep, and Teenage Robot is SUPER UPA to the max.

Professor Gascan

Can't wait to see what you think of Emara. I really enjoyed it, and I hope it's done well enough for Eating Stars to continue, since I'm curious where the story goes. As I've recently gotten more jaded with American superhero comics, I find more entertainment out of seeing other countries' treatment of the genre, so I'm curious what both of you - but especially Henry - think of this series.

The Mela Experience

Excited to see some classic Warner on there in the form of Daffy Duck. I'm not a King Size patron so feel free to ignore my suggestion, but in the spirit of the Cartoon Network of old, maybe a little June Bugs could follow?!

Joe Hodgson

Best Captain Planet appearance hands down is in OK KO where it’s used to make a point about the original show: they tried to warn us about protecting the planet and we as a species didn’t listen. Now, saving the planet isn’t a choice anymore

Alex Irish

Nice, some Captain Planet..and my absolutely favorite Daffy Duck short, Duck Amuck! They even made it a decent DS mini-game compilation. I also loved the one where Daffy got back at Bugs doing the same thing.
