Vote On The June 2019 What A Cartoon! Movie!
Added 2019-06-01 13:00:01 +0000 UTCSummer is here for The Talking Simpsons Network! For all you lovely patrons, that means a new poll for the next What A Cartoon Movie! As always, we're doing an exclusive movie podcast for our $10+ subscribers, and we open up the polls to all the $5+ patrons as well just so their voices can be heard. You can only vote once for one of the four choices before polling closes the night of June 7th.
Our theme this month is another special one! Direct-To-Video Animation! We've done a lot of classic theatrical releases, but some feature-length releases are still great even if they don't appear in theaters. These are sequels to previous What A Cartoon! podcast subjects or related to previous topics, all would be great to cover were they to win, so take a look at the choices below and pick one:
Aladdin: The Return of Jafar, the 1994 sequel to the Disney Renaissance classic that set the stage for the TV series!
Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero, the second Batman animated film from 1998 that was the finale to the first era of the DCAU!
The Animatrix, 2003's deep dive into the world of The Matrix via a collection of nine amazing anime shorts overseen by The Wachowskis!
Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation, the 1992 original video special that is some of the best looking toons that feature Babs, Buster, Plucky, and the rest of the gang!
Every vote counts as these often get pretty close, so be sure to get your vote in before the deadline! Once we have a winner, we'll release June's What A Cartoon Movie! podcast for all our $10+ subscribers before the end of the month! Good luck on your favorite winning!

I remember I asked my parents to get my How I Spent My Summer Vacation on VHS for hannukah. Was extremely disappointed when they instead got me The Flintstones Meet The Jetsons. It was like when I asked for a gameboy and got a Sega Nomad. To this day I'm still not sure if they did all this on purpose

2019-06-11 14:16:28 +0000 UTCI still play “spot the car” at least once a week, and honestly have for the past 25 years. (Fingers crossed for “How I Spent My Summer Vacation.”)

2019-06-03 07:54:26 +0000 UTCLittle disappointed to not see An Extremely Goofy Movie in the list. Going with the next “best” (big step down) direct to video sequel choice with Return of Jafar.

2019-06-03 00:58:38 +0000 UTCanimatrix has my vote but alot of that might be the bleed over from anime and lore world building they did in the final short film. it's a trite statement but animatrix connected with me alot more that the matrix sequels ever did. matrix reloaded still has cool fight scenes for the last 40 minutes though.

2019-06-02 04:34:42 +0000 UTCReturn of Jafar won't win and shouldn't win but the rare intersection of the main topics of all three ongoing podcasts (Dan Castellaneta voicing a character in an animated movie made by the production team of a television cartoon, both of which are sequels to a previous WaCM episode to boot) meant that I had to vote for it.

2019-06-02 01:44:47 +0000 UTCI've seen the Tiny Toons one so many times. Its one of my favorite animated movies. That's my vote.

2019-06-01 20:14:50 +0000 UTCWhile I love anything Batman, you've just done Mask of the Phantasm so I'll be fine if you skip it for now - ditto Aladdin. Time for one of the others, and as I'm sure we'll get Tiny Toons at some point, it has to be The Animatrix.
