Talk to the Audience?!? Episode 27
Added 2019-08-27 01:44:07 +0000 UTC
We've reached the end of yet another month on the Talking Simpsons Network, which means it's time for our community podcast! This time around, we dish on the tons and tons of exciting—and not-so-exciting—news coming out of Disney's D23 conference, gripe and grouse about the recent viral Simpsons/Trump video, and then discuss former Simpsons composer Alf Clausen's lawsuit against the show. And, as always, we read and respond to your questions and comments from our recent batch of episodes. Listen now before Disney consumes us all!
Also: Al Jean, just hang it up already, you fucking hack.

Thank you for reading my comment, means a lot. I'm glad I could provide some trans perspective on the special. I'm not the emperor of trans people, but I can at least speak from what I know from my life and from what others shared with me.

I didn't know that Simpsons digital short existed, and even just hearing you guys describe it made my blood boil a bit. I don't really have anything to add because you guys covered why it's shitty and ultimately harmful to a degree really well, so I'll just scream a big COME THE FUCK ON at the Simpsons. I guess them being under the Disney umbrella is a match made in heaven/hell since Disney apparently doesn't wanna "alienate" Nazis with Jojo Rabbit. What a fucked up world we live in.

Weird Al's song "Talk Soup" was actually written as a theme song for the E! show but was not used (Al is a bit salty about this, saying that the network "jerked [him] around"). The "E!" sound at the end of the song is a relic of this. For what it's worth, though it hasn't aged especially well, this is one of my favorite Al originals.

Fox was slow to renew X-Men because it was a complicated setup. It was a joint venture between Saban, Marvel, and Graz Entertainment with the animation all outsourced to Akom. They had all of those problems production-wise on the first season, that it created a pretty big lag between when the episodes were finished writing-wise and when they finally aired. Plus, no one at Marvel and few at Fox thought it would be the hit it was. And, yeah, Saban was notoriously cheap and forced the writers to take a paycut for season 2 figuring since the show was a hit, he could easily attract new writers, if necessary. It was Fox's number one rated show for kids until the Power Rangers burst onto the scene in 93.

Ok I’ll be that guy. The Mandalorian is not about Boba Fett. Boba Fett wears Mandalorian armour which is why they look similar. This series is set after Return of the Jedi and so Boba Fett is deep in a pit.
