Talking Futurama - Xmas Story
Added 2019-11-15 08:00:02 +0000 UTC
In the spirit of Xmas, we're regifting our 2017 holiday special—recorded way back when Talking Futurama was just a glint in our eyes! Odds are, you haven't heard it, or possibly have forgotten about it, but either way we guarantee it's more valuable than 500 lizards! Listen in and transport yourself the not-too-distant past to hear our vintage feelings about a murderous Santa Claus robot who pissed off Fox almost as much as Bender's Xmas Eve crime spree. Listen, there's no time to axe us any questions—just prepare a glass of egg nog made from bourbon and ice cubes, and get ready to slip into the Xmas spirit!
Hello, long time listener, first tine on Patreon this month. I am about to listen. To this one. I never understood how they had pine trees clearly in the episode before Fry says anything ..then everyone is like "they're extinct like everything else you like". I guess they could have been holograms or mechanical due to how they can go "trees down" and "tress up". But I would just love to go to a restaurant, which is hard today, and ask for an opinion on a entree and just go "that's a stupid idea for an entree, you're stupid"just because I work retail and want to be a rude customer, but not to a fellow retail worker. Someone lower than me. Like a server...I'm just kidding.

I'll definitely agree with you guys that, as good as this episode is, it's not Futurama's best Xmas special (which is saying something). And also Fry's screaming of "that's stupid! YOU'RE stupid!" gets me every fucking time.

I was wondering how this would go down since the episode had been done before (albeit in a different kind of format), but given that it's been nearly two years since this originally posted I was totally down to revisit it. And, it's still a GREAT episode! Other than some minor format stuff like when/which sound effects are used, it still fits in pretty well with the current Talking Futurama stuff. The only real thing is that it's shorter than they've been lately, which is obviously chalked up to not talking about the specific writers/directors of the episode, but that's not really an issue and it's a super fun listen a second time
