While extravagant animated productions of this nature would soon become a thing of the past thanks to cheapo imports like Power Rangers, for five seasons and 99 episodes, Animaniacs gave us song-filled, sarcastic adventures in pop culture parody and satire, often with brilliant animation. For our examination of this classic series, we'll be taking a look at the second episode—a sophomore non-slump that single-handedly brought us Yakko's World, the debut of Pinky and the Brain, and an incredibly memorable Warners short. To betray my age, Animaniacs was totally appointment television for my friends and I back in college, like Batman TAS was the previous fall. Every afternoon at 4 o'clock a group of us would torture the dorm with our off key rendition of the theme. A stuffed Wakko Warner was the first present from my then girlfriend (now wife). We even used a bad impersonation of the Pinky and the Brain What do you want to do tonight Brain as a bumper for the campus radio station. What's the point of this story? I like stories
