Talking Simpsons - Large Marge
Added 2023-08-02 04:00:02 +0000 UTC
This week's well-endowed episode sees us exploring one of the horniest episodes of Simpsons ever with Large Marge. After accidentally getting cosmetic surgery, Marge has a chest expansion that gets a lot of attention. After the show finds every possible joke they can about Marge's honkers, we then learn there are downsides to it, plus the confusing return of Stampy and Adam West to the show, some Hollywood lore on Burt Ward, and lots of immature giggling on this chesty podcast!
This could be one of the breast episodes of talking simpsons, ill see myself out

I remember watching this episode when it was new and not liking it, but oh MY GOD returning to it now was very weird and uncomfortable. It's WAY too horny on the animator's part, and so demeaning/misogynistic on the part of the writers too. Not only is it bad enough to have such gratuitous shots of Marge's larger breasts (and that uncomfortable bit with her suddenly too dumb to lift Maggie around them), but the solution to the Krusty plotline being her flashing everyone at the convention is just gross. This is not to say that there's no place for boobs/horniness in animation OF COURSE but The Simpsons isn't the place for it on this level. Marge regularly gets the shit end of the stick when it comes to plotlines, and this thrusts her in the center just to objectify her, and it's not even funny either. Can't wait to get to the body building episode soon where, if memory serves, there's a very uncomfortable bit with Marge and Homer that borders on sexual assault...

I asked myself: would Herny and Bob talking about cartoon boobs for 2 hours make me uncomfortable...20 minutes I'm thinking: stop, stop it's already dead

They also appeared together onscreen in the reunion film Return to the Batcave a year after this episode, so who knows how long the feud lasted or what they would/wouldn't do together.

Always got confused and thought this one was Marge Simpson in: "Screaming Yellow Honkers" because I did not get that obscure snack reference.

Dunno when the rift with West and Ward was, or really *what* it was, but my dad organized a signing with them both in the '90s, and they were just fine. Yvonne Craig was the asshole who wouldn't show up since the organizers wouldn't cough up another $10,000 (so the photos that were to be signed for charity pointlessly had Batgirl with Batman and Robin).

We recorded this one a while ago but I think I was just joking when I said it was rated PG. - Bob

Really hate to be the "Ackshually" guy but Texas Chainsaw WAS rated R in the 70s, it was aiming to be rated PG, and thus isn't gory as the title might lead you to believe. Toby Hooper's 1982 film, "Poltergeist" was, however, rated PG despite the face melting scene, which is much gorier than anything in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

About Segway, they are still around in the same way Atari is. After the tragic passing of their CEO, Segway fell on hard times. Stock shares fell while they became the butt of many jokes. Eventually Ninebot, an EV company based out of Beijing, purchased them in 2015. Segway has since shifted focus to different forms of micro mobility.
They're best selling product might be their commuter scooter the Segway Max *nudging Henry*. The PT (the original vehicle) was discontinued just a few years ago. Despite being well know, less than 150 000 were sold.
I tip my hat to Segway for blaizing the trail for micro mobility.
Those "powered unicycles" you see today might be either a Onewheel (a name brand U.S. company) or an electric unicycle, which is what I ride. I owe my newest hobby to a dumb vehicle that was adopted by mall security and almost took out a U.S. President.

Pam Anderson famously (or infamously) had her breast augmentations surgically removed in 1999. I feel like this was officially the full stop on the big boob worship of the 1990's and ostensibly the beginning of ass worship in the noughties. As a teen I was swept up in 90's boob worship like everyone else, but I'm happier now as a mature age person mostly interested in shapely asses.
A friend of mine who I'll refer to as G is a moderately famey Maori actor, who in turn is friends with Cliff Curtis (a moderately more famey Maori actor) and once told me a story where the two of them were hanging around with Danny DeVito, after a night of partying they returned (steaming drunk) to Danny's Malibu mansion to chill, circa 2001 when only the rich knew about and could afford to buy Segways, apparently Danny told them both he had something really cool to show them, disappeared upstairs and returned riding his brand new Segway, which he proceeded to ride down the staircase; the assumption here being Segways are new and Danny may have over estimated what they were capable of / was steaming drunk. He fell very dramatically all the way to the bottom along with the Segway and G/Cliff immediately shit themselves as they were standing in Danny DeVito's lobby with his lifeless body, two brown men, intoxicated... a moment later he came to and they exhaled then called him an ambo. True story.

This has to be up there with Kill the Alligator and Run and Tennis the Menace on my "worst episode" top 10. Just an embarrassing episode from top to bottom. And y'all mentioned it's been a few years since the Simpsons randomly broke out into song, I wonder if it's in part knowing they won't be compared with Family Guy since it didn't come back for this season, since Family Guy loved having the characters break out into old timey musical numbers.
As a guest pointed out, we're only five episodes away from a *second* "Marge body transformation" episode of the season.

People are still riding Segways! Back in I think May I saw multiple people riding Segways around downtown Portland (Oregon), like one or two people each week through the whole month. I haven't seen any since but I'm sure they're still out there somewhere.

Surf’s Up is the superior penguin movie. Happy Feet is garbage. This is my hot take from 2007.

John R Dilworth was actually not involved in that Courage and Scooby-Doo crossover. I really need Henry to finally watch it and hear what he has to say on a future Talk to the Audience. lol
