2024-02-19 13:14:07 +0000 UTCI can’t help but bring up “where’s Springfield?” discourse but I like how Krusty’s election is for “Springfield’s 24th district”. I know it’s the writers just short-handing but I like the idea of Springfield’s state simply being named Springfield. It neatly explains away stuff like Springfield State Prison, character’s driver’s licenses and license plates away too. I always thought David Silverman’s coinage of “North Takoma” was fun too, but I digress. Also, even if 24 was all the congresspeople their state had, they’d be the 5th largest state by population at the time.
