It was DEEPLY scathing, used muzak from a Scientology convention and focused heavily on a growing lump of scum in the corner of his mouth. It was so funny I shed tears, we all had a jolly good laugh at it, partly because it was so well done, but also partly because of how absurd it seemed for someone like Trump to run for president. Remember how we all laughed and said 'Oh surely no one will actually elect Trump, that ain't gonna happen, wow what a buffoon he is etc'. In the last month I've had this conversation with countless people 'SURELY they won't elect him a second time around, I mean come on, there's so many reasons why it probably won't happen... however we DID say all these things the first time around, and they elected him then.. soooo' 🫣

I really wanted to say, in regard to slight mention of hurricane Helene, your podcast was a major resource in helping me thru the aftermath of this disastrous storm. I live in the western NC area, one of the areas that got hit the worst. Our town used to be declared a “climate oasis” only for it to be another reminder of how nobody is safe from the effects of climate change. It was weird seeing my town be the star of national news for about a month. Things have certainly been rough. As I write this we still do not have clean drinking water yet. It was multiple weeks of headaches, stress and fear of whether we’d have food to eat the next day. Many small things kept my sanity intact during the storm: my UY manga, my cat and the many Talking Simpsons podcasts I had at my disposal. Having a podcast episode to look forward kept me going when I had no other motivation. I owe your brilliantly exhausting movie/cartoon reviews for keeping me busy when the only thing I can do is read comics until it gets dark. Our town has a lot of recovery to attend to but we’re slowly getting better with each passing day. All of this to say, thank you Bob and Henry (and the rest of the podcast contributors and artists) for the hard historical research and endless entertainment you provide! End transmission.
