Talking Simpsons - Burns' Heir With Eva Anderson

"Kids, you tried your best, and you failed miserably. The lesson is: never try." - Homer Simpson

When a brush with the reaper inspires Mr. Burns to seek out an heir, he quickly finds one in the form of Bart Simpson. But as Bart grows more estranged from his family, we find the true test of a son's love comes down to whether or not he'll execute his own father for a Blockbuster Video gift certificate.

This truly is an all-time great episode with so many moments/jokes that are burned into my brain that it's almost impossible for me to pick a favourite. I am VERY partial to Homer's horrendously written speech, Michael Caine saying "b'oh," how far into the script Burns has to flip to find "d'oh," and every second of Hans Moleman. As much as I do love $pringfield, Burns' Heir is tied with Rosebud for me as the best Burns episode of the season.

Toys is a very odd film, but what makes it stand out for me is the director deciding "as much as possible in this film is going to look like a René Magritte painting come to life." It's a very unique vision and I love it for it. Also, LL Cool J's line of "I hate it when my food touches. I'm a military man, I want a military meal" has taken up permanent residence in my brain.

Re: Richard Simmons, the real tragedy is the Pauly Shore biopic actually forced him to plan a bit of a public comeback on Howard Stern (he had personal friendships with Gary Dell'Abate and others). Sadly, he died after taking a fall in his house, and refusing to go to the hospital because it was his birthday.

I hope Bob enjoyed his visit to Montreal (my hometown)!

If you want to talk about a show that went on FOREVER, the recent champion of that genre is “The Walking Dead.” Holy lord! That show was hot for the first few seasons and then became “oh that’s still happening?”
