Probably because old cars have a history to them, they've got stories around every creak, groan, and dent that I think just adds to their appeal for me; new cars are nice and all, hybrids and such, but if you've got an old car that still runs pretty smooth I wouldn't give that up for anything.

Get a hybrid, have insanely good gas mileage, less maintenance and maintenance cost, lower carbon footprint (only true if your car is due for replacement anyway! Please keep driving your current car until it is actually due for replacement unless it is a high-emissions vehicle), and better safety features. Hi, I don't really get attached to things much, can you tell?
