Yup nick, I too was a shonentard back in the day (2015 or 2016), but SAO, DFX, and DxD were a "bridge" for me to explore other genres, started with Romance ofc, then SoL, Drama, etc. If it were not for those 3, I might never watch so many anime I would enjoy

After confirming his feeling towards her and seeing she reciprocated, he manned up and straight up asked to marry him. That is a true main character, not this shit tards we have nowadays like Deku, Tanjiro or Denji.

2025-07-29 22:09:51 +0000 UTCActually SAO is a shonen, since shonen = young boys and this anime fits perfectly in the definition of anime for young boys, it’s not a Neketsu like One Piece, Naruto, Dragon ball, Jujutsu Kaizen, etc… And this is only for me, but I don’t like when people put SAO in the Isekai genre, because it doesn’t really fit into the genre, only the first arc could potentially fit into the Isekai genre, but they do know how to get out of the game, most of the Isekais the protagonist don’t know how to leave the world/game they’re in
