Cyberslayers 0.3, let's talk about it

Hi everyone,

I am overall satisfied with version 0.2 and I am glad to see that many of you liked it.

This version has consolidated the introduction in 0.1 and you should have a good idea of the potential of the project.

I have been concentrating on 0.3 for some time now and I hope it will be even more ambitious and fun. This update should confirm the mechanics introduced in the previous versions and give more freedom to the player.

It's a very impressive work, especially for a single developer because the challenge is high: introduce routes with the characters, visitable and revisitable places, repeatable events and keep a balance in the skill tree, the economy (purchase of clothes, apartment...) without forgetting  the plot and the slayer fights (which are very demanding in terms of management of variables and conditions related to each pose and image).

My idea is to make Aline and Kassiah evolve always according to your choices in an erotic game and a cyberpunk universe, without being too ambitious but enough to keep your attention.

Creating free roam with events, working on descriptions as I think the lore is important

You could see that the possibilities will be numerous and very quickly from the 0.3 you will be able to do more varied things.

I've been quiet  lately about the development of the game because I was deeply thinking about the direction of the project in order to avoid making the same mistakes I did in the past.

The temptation has been great to open many different paths for Aline but it's a trap...it's like the one who draws a map for his rpg, he makes a big map and he thinks he will put a lot of cities, characters, fights and objects...then he realizes the magnitude of the task and several months later...he gets demotivated and gives up his game.

I experienced this in several projects before Leridia...and that's why I started with a simple village...then an island. Today the project is being completed and it is a great pride.

For Cyberslayers, I wish to take the same road and not to think too big while finishing what I started. Honestly, I feel that I have already opened a lot of possibilities and I will have to do them all.

I'm not going to summarize it all but here's an idea of what I see:

- A plot with slayers around the Dark Matter

- A city divided into several playable sectors: Beta, Gamma, Delta

- Possible routes with at least: Alan, Charlotte, Fred, Raph, Kassiah, Lucius and the Police Captain

- A barmaid side activity and a dance activity

- Several costumes

- A card system to collect and exchange

- A skill tree to balance and make sure that each skill is useful "several times

This roadmap is already gigantic and I don't count the dungeons with fights for the slayer missions.

I know you are impatient but I don't hide you that it will take some time and all your support. A monthly release is not realistic at this stage. I'm thinking about a bi-monthly release once the basis of 0.3 will be set, I think in July.

Of course I could make small updates and release them in early access but I don't like this formula. I want to deliver a consistent content.

Overall, the community is growing and the financial support is increasing.  But I notice that many people came for early access and left. Unfortunately, the support is mostly between updates and not just for a release.

I really hope the project will grow and become popular with time. I'd like to be full time on this but it's not possible right now. I'd hate to put Cyberslayers on hiatus because I have to find a side-job to pay the bills.

So, I really hope more patrons will come in the future and stay but I don't have the magic formula for this.

As for you who are always supporting me, I'm doing the best as I can to give you something good in return.

Moreover, as I said, patrons over 100$ of support and active will have early access for 0.3 this summer.

Finally, I'll try to give you more information from time to time, as things are becoming concrete recently since 0.3 is taking shape and in a nice way.

I'll make a post in the future to talk about the status of 0.3 and what I'm doing. To summarize, I'm making poses and maps right now with lights and rendering. I'm also writing routes for characters. More details soon.

Last but not least, visit my discord and the #wip channel which is almost daily updated.

I wanted to argue with some screens but I'm already too long so I put here some raw images of the project that I will comment soon.

Rawp pic of central district, beta center. A place for activities and free roaming. Work in Progress.

Interior - Robotic shop - I will add steam effects and neons for a cyberpunk feeling

Comments

yeah, that's what I like to hear. As long as you give keep giving updates on this game about either, what you are working on now or the future ideas or previews of 0.3 will be great. If you do that, I'll keep supporting you to meet your goal.
