Dramas, list, and changes.

Hey there, guys and gals. The last month has been... not very productive, to be honest. I had some personal issues that threw me off track for a while. It's hard to focus on fictional worlds when your head is preoccupied with other things.

Nevertheless, dramas or no dramas, work on the next episode is underway. Although so far it's just a draft. On the other hand, the draft is the foundation, so everything is fine. Most likely, I will work on this update in the same way as I did on the last one. First, I will write the entire draft down to the last dot, and only then will I start converting it into the game. Experience with the huge previous update has shown that this is more optimal than doing each scene separately and then adding it to the game right away.

I also made a list of points that concern 1.9 and 2.0. That is, things that must be there. There are 31 points on the list, divided into 4 categories: new events, continuations of old ones, and two columns with points for two specific characters.

There are changes to one old and, in a way, painful idea for me. Originally, this was supposed to be the center of episode 1.9. Then I decided to shorten the idea to a tiny scene so that I could fit all the events of the end of the second chapter into a nice, neat row and not get bogged down in another overly long episode. Now... now I'm working on a compromise. It will be a fairly long scene with a wide range of outcomes. But it won't be the basis of an episode, as planned long ago, nor will it be a tiny scene, as planned not so long ago. On the list, it falls under “new.” Although there have been hints of this since, let's say, your first meeting with Meralion. But no, it doesn't concern him directly. After all, the guy could be dead by then.

That's all. Thank you to everyone who is interested, asks questions, and shares their opinions. Even though I haven't been inclined to respond actively lately, please know that your comments support me. Thank you.

It is worth bearing in mind, however, that the problem with spoilers in unfinished works is not only the spoilers themselves, but also the fact that they may not happen. There are plans. There always are. But plans can change. Just like the characters they affect.

Hey D.E.;-😉! Yes, I don't have any major problems; things are going well for me lately, thank you. I also want you to know that I'm happy for you that things are going better, and that your problems are henceforth behind you. And, thank you again, for your complete answer about Meralion;-🙂)! I know you don't usually like to go into “spoiler mode” (and rightly so, by the way), but this time I wished a explanation/clarification on his particular case. The vague or enigmatic answers you usually use to avoid any spoilers have certainly proved their worth by the past, sure, but can sometimes prove quite frustrating for passionate gamers like me!! That's why I insisted (just a bit~ xD) this time, in order to find out where you going script-wise with Mer. I have my answer now. Personally, I believe that Mer has the potential to become an excellent character in the drama genre. You've also confirmed that what's next for him will be partly linked to Selene's actions and decisions... And I think it will be very fine like that!!! Don't change this, D.E., you're the best!-👍+🥲! Okay, so, keep up the good work mate, and as always: good fortitude to you for the rest of the devlopment. [^-📝-^]

Hello, Lonely Wolf, I hope you are well. Regarding my issues, there is still some residue, but everything is fine. Sometimes things happen. The important thing is not to dwell on it. Which is what I am trying to do. As for the fate of Meralion, which concerns you so much. Indeed, there wasn't much communication with him since his injury. And his reaction in those brief moments of consciousness he had was not at all what many had hoped for. Well, that's the problem with expectations. I don't remember if I told you this personally or to someone else, but the story of Selene and Meralion (which is kind of a side story) is a little more complicated than a typical romance. A good (and very polite) guy becomes crippled and starts acting rude and angry. A very... human reaction. I would say that further developments (potentially quite extensive) will depend on Selene's actions and decisions. Perhaps Mer will sink even deeper into the dark side. And that will lead him where it should lead. Or perhaps someone will be able to pull him out. But it won't be easy. And the price may be high. Sorry if this is a spoiler, but I got the impression that you wanted something more meaningful this time, than my usual “vague” statements about future events.

Good evening to you, talented developer!-👋-! Looks like that it's been very quiet these days on your Patreon!? What the fuck? So, did you miss me, my dear D.E.?-😙-? But nevermind, let's get rather straight to the important point: I truly hope for you, that you were able to sort out all your personal issues the last month, and that this period of “complications” hasn't affected you too much morally... Anyway, I'm glad to see that now the work on the foundations of the draft is progressing well. Of course, I'm glad, too, that you're now making an intelligent use of the experience you gained with the last huge update!-👍-! There you go, I don't have much else to add so far, except perhaps one or two "little" things about Meralion. Firstly, I must say that at this stage of the game, I'm kinda worried regarding the mental health of this good Mer. I mean, although he was saved by Selene, I wonder if he might (or not?) quickly fall into a kind of depression following his harsh amputation??? Indeed, the mere fact of being stuck with the status of “motorically handicapped” until his death, doesn't seems bode well for this NPC's future. That's why, I think it would be nice if Selene had the opportunity to have a SERIOUS discussion with him during this v1.9, in a way that the players are at least informed of his state of mind and actual intentions... Yes, ‘cause since the beginning of the 1.7 and then during all the 1.8, he was almost always unconscious, so dialogue scenes with him since the jumpers’ attack has been very limited;-😟). Plus, it would unlock several interesting dialogue options for Selene (probably). For example: if players prefer to play the role of a compassionate Selene (-☺️-), it would make sense for her to assure him of her support, despite the inevitable difficulties that it would imply (and also what this might cost her). On the contrary, a wicked Selene (-😈-) might adopt a mocking and/or belittling, denigrate, etc, attitude (in the hard matriarchal way, I guess) towards the poor man. Next, for those who prefers play a neutral Selene (-😑-): they may should be able to select insensitive/disinterested dialogue lines to respond to Mer's moods. Yeah, that's pretty much how I imagine things right now, for what you yourself described as Selene's “secondary” story with this brave Merry! Come on, I'll stop here, cuz I believe that you get well my point of view on the subject, D.E.!-😅-! Besides, what your thoughts about all this?+? •P.S. / And please, thank you in advance, for not replying me with something along the lines of ones of your latest famous sentences, of the style: < Also, he could die. Again. Someday. Maybe even more than once >. Simply because it tends to depress me to read such statements, you see? Thing which, if we reflect twice about it, is a bit sad compared to an endearing character like Meralion's, isn't it? \ •P.P.S. / Nonetheless, if he REALLY must die later on, (for the narrative needs of the game's general story or other reasons, whatever) know well the friend, that I'll respect your choice despite everything :) \
