FAQ for december, last of 2021
Added 2022-01-06 17:13:20 +0000 UTCWho’s a pretty kitty?
His name is Nosse (Nosferatu), whom we adopted as a 3 year old together with his brother Samhain, who sadly passed away years ago due to congenital heart failure. He's a lovely orange with orange eyes (half american bombay, his brother was coal black) who loves people and hates other cats. He doesn't miow, just does these little chirps, but he's very talkative with them. Likes to sleep on top of people and wake at sunrise to get fed. Super fastidious and tries to bury every time we spill something. Not his litterbox tho, he does all the burying on the floor next to it. Wouldn't want to get dirty. He was an indoor cat for the start of his life, so the outdoors is still scary and good for small walks only unless it's windy, wet or cold. Then he stays inside. Wouldn't poop or pee outside, that's for barbarians. Doesn't understand birds, but hunts mice. Has been in a few fights with other cats, and has won them all. He has very thick fur and likes getting brushed, and becomes twice the size when angry or scared.

Do you trust the cat to leave those plants alone?
Yes, he doesn't eat indoor plants at all. Not even when I try to grow him cat grass. That's the main reason for him going outside.
How was the movie industry affected by the Big One? What is the USA's like in present time?
The movie industry was devastated, but quickly recovered. The current center is Atlanta, though there is a sizable NY industry too. The US in the Fallen Hero world is more... hmmm stressed? It's been dealing with four decades of internal refugees, the loss of the west coast, and lessened international importance. The self-image has taken a turn, but unlike with 9/11, there's no outer enemy to direct the anxiety at.
Are there reality TV shows in the FEZ? Are there any Hero or enhanced people themed ones around?
Reality TV shows are not as common as today due to the privacy protection laws. They tend to be fictional, though "based on a true story".
Do the Rangers prefer to live in survivor ran areas/buildings or corporate run ones? What about Dr Mortum? Do they prefer criminal run areas?
All the rangers live in corporate run areas, since that encompasses most of downtown. Dr. Mortum's lab is in an industrial area, which is also corporate run. Easier to stay under the radar if you know the right people.
Would Ortega consider being called a Silver Fox or a D/MILF insults or compliments?
Both. More the former though, they are sensitive about age.
What does the cutting edge of armor technology look like in the fallen hero world?
Full flight capability. Plasma, laser or railgun armaments. Reactive armor, energy shielding or stealth capacity. Exoskeletons. Fully submersible. But armors tends to be specialized, and not have every single option out there. Some are like tanks, others like helicopters, artillery or submarines. There are more experimental ones, like the "swarm," with one person controlling a multitude of drones.
Would you mind explaining some of the more advanced weaponry available to people who either aren't mods or boosts, or wish to further enhance their setups.
Energy weapons exist and are portable, down to handgun size. However, they might not be the best choice unless you have access to a portable generator (as in an armor) since they use massive amounts for each shot and battery capacity runs out. Sidestep's gun could fire five times at the max setting, though Ortega could reload it (they had a plug for it made). Railguns and related magnetically propelled missiles are available, from small needle guns to large armor-mounted cannons. Plasma has mostly replaced flamethrowers since they have similar effects to napalm technology but is easier to control and fire. Napalm is the cheaper variant. Various magnetic and EMP devices exist to disrupt mods. The full range of modern rifle/handgun/missile weaponry exist. Drones are handy, and can be easily controlled with goggles and joysticks.
What would each of the Rangers + Mortum say is the dumbest thing they have ever done and why? What would you say is the dumbest decision they've made?
Ortega: Doing something dumb? Why, never. (going hand to hand with the Catastrofiend)
Steel: Agreeing to become Marshal. (not telling Ortega a thing they found out about Sidestep)
Argent: Agreeing to fake-date Herald. (trusting Francis (not telling who that is))
Herald: Not stopping his brother from taking the boost drugs. (deciding to lie in therapy)
Mortum: trusting Vitruvian. (not stealing Vitruvian's notes)
Process question! Do you have any particular tips/tricks for tracking all the endstates/threads you're planning on picking up in later entries? (There's so many epilogue variations!)
Are there any scripting lessons you're carrying from Retribution onward?
Oh boy. here we go:
1: Don't have a major ending state unless you already know which scene will start with that end state, and how to fuse it back to a major path eventually.
2: Makes notes in the startup file or notebook what each variable actually is and tracks. (I learned that in retribution)
3: The amount of work it takes to use a variable might not be relative to how much enjoyment it is for the reader. I have cut out variables for that reason, and added variables people have wished for because it has been little work for me to do so. Sometimes it has been a lot of work to add a variable, but if I think that it is worth it and adds to the story I want to tell, I will do it.
4: Think about long term consequences of deceptively easy variables. I planned to add a pet variable in Retribution, but decided against it, since it would unduly influence Sidestep's behavior. I want people to be able to explore bad paths without worrying about whether their cat gets fed.
5: Better to track a variable if not, it might be used in the future.
If the ROs were forced to take a vacation outside the city, where would they go and what would they do?
Right now (because this varies): Chen would like some nice mountain forests and go hiking. Ortega would go skiing, preferably offpist. Argent would like to visit Atlanta and catch some shows. Herald would like to go to Hawaii and lie on the beach.
How in the world do you manage to keep track of all of your variables? (I have a spreadsheet for my small game, but even that is getting out of hand)
I add a *comment in the startup file with what the variable does right underneath it. I try to group them in related sections. I try to name them logical things so I remember what it is just by seeing it.
Do dampeners work on all psychic powers, or just telepathy?
It also work on related powers, and, in fact, some powers that are not related.
Will we meet and/or fight other members of the guardians in book 3?
Most likely, but it might vary depending on path.
How strong is Temerain? how does she utilize it in fights, and whats her limit when it comes to lifting and interacting with things?
Her limits are as high as the author needs her to be at the moment. She is definitely more strength based than for detailwork, her telekinesis is good at lifting and tossing. She doesn't use it for direct punches, but throws, breaks and tosses things. Her favorite move is using one villain as a weapon against the others.
Were any of Ljungstrand's ideas on "implanted memories" or how trauma/traumatic memories affect the mind used in the creation of Re-genes AI chips or in telepathic experimentation?
Yes. They were central.
Curious, are there any side characters going to therapy?
Bo. Mia.
In Ljungstrand’s telepathic power levels, both 4 and 9 are labeled as ”other”, what does the definition "other" exactly mean in terms of telepathic powers and how do the 4 and 9 branches differ from each other?
Nr. 4 is the root, Nr. 9 is a branch. Nr. 4 is for those telepathic roots that are not emotional, rational or subconscious. This means a source of telepathy that affects other parts of the mind, outside the id/ego/superego doctrine. It's basically a placeholder for weird shit not yet encountered, it is VERY rare. Nr. 9 is more common. This is how the telepathic powers influences someone, outside the more common project, receive, influence, control.
What was the very first scene written for Fallen Hero?
Actually the very first scene in both book and game, being punched through a wall as Argent.
Does a Re-Gene usually have a single genetic donor or does it vary? (with the Farm splicing select genetic info from multiple donors)
It varies. Multiple donors is the most common, though some pure-strains exist.
Approximately what percentage of Los Diablos' population is boosted and/or modded? How does it compare to other major cities in the FEZ and eastern US?
If we discount minor mods comparable to glasses or hearing aids, around 1%. It's about ten times the numbers of any other FEZ city. There are few mods or boosts in the eastern US, at least officially. Maybe a few hundred in each city.
What percentage of the boosted population does each category of boost make up? (e.g. 'classic' boosts make up 30% of the boosted population, psychics make up 10%, etc.)
It's always hard to estimate, but here's an educated guess: Around 50% are minor boosts, not really something to write home about. They don't have any major changes to the body or mind, and usually don't bother trying to use them for a living. Around 30% are boosts affecting normal physical attributes, like speed, strength, durability, regeneration and the like. Especially the latter ones have a disproportionate amount of boost survivors. Around 15% are psychic boosts and similar (low-grade sensitives are included in the minor boosts above). They don't have major physical changes, but have issues with mental health. The remaining 5% are the weird and dangerous ones whose powers truly breaks the laws of physics. Elemental powers, massive physical transformation, teleportation or flight.
In FH: Rebirth we can defeat the heroes present at the gala without utilizing our telepathy or the nanovores in any obvious way, instead relying on skill and our new armor, thus leaving the Rangers/public unaware that we do in fact have both powers and a secret weapon. For all they know this new villain could just be some crazy non-enhanced guy in a fancy battle suit.
But how much further will we be able to push this advantage? Will we be able to go through FH: Retribution without the Rangers figuring out that we are the same one who manipulated lady Argent if we play our cards right? How might the story change if we remain an unknown telepath? So far only Mortum, having built the armor, would have reason to suspect us and the good doctor seems unlikely to tattle on us to the Heroes.
My goal is that you will be able to go through the story without revealing anything officially if you play your cards right.
Also, how (un)wise is it to strap a literal weapon of mass destruction to ourselves and go fist fight some superheroes? It sure doesn't seem ideal to be caught at the center of another Nanosurge...
Sidestep has done more dangerous things, it's a good weapon of last resort if nothing else.
Does Sidestep's grave have their full name on it or just Sidestep? Or Both?
It just has Sidestep on it, as well as an inscription. What that inscription is, I won't tell. You will find that out in game if you ever visit (parts of it will vary depending on playthrough too). Ortega kept Sidestep's name secret to the end.
Assuming Ortega never found Step at the diner, how would Chen react to seeing Step at the dog park? Would he approach them? And would he tell Ortega about seeing Step again?
Chen would not have approached, but would have started to research. If that research had proved fruitful, he would have approached Sidestep himself in good time. He would not have told Ortega until he had been 100% sure.
What did the Void keep in their own "void cages"?
Good spot. The "void cage" technology is indeed based on Void's powers. The way they used it led to some interesting breakthrough in electromagnetic theory. Dr. Mortum would hate to admit it, but the void cage is also based on Vitruvian's work, and Vitruvian occasionally worked with the Void in early on in his career. As for what the Void kept in their cages? Themself. People.
What did Anathema think of Ortega, really? What did they think of their work as the Marshal? Was Anathema privy to Ortega's personal vendettas and secrets? Who was Anathema closest to on the Rangers' team?
Anathema liked Ortega a lot, it's very easy to do so. However, there was also a part of Themmy that was a bit intimidated, and occasionally scared. It was a bit like "I'm glad they're on my side". Anathema was privy to a lot of Ortega's personal stuff, Themmy is an easy person to confide in. It is hard to say who Themmy was the closest to, they sure hung out with Ortega and Sidestep the most, but they had a very close relationship with Sunstream. Anathema thought that Marshal Charge was a mad idea that should never have worked yet somehow did.
Ashfall/Pyroclast & Ortega: what was the beef? What was it about Ortega that soured his opinion of them? Especially in regards to the possible Sidestep relationship? And did he feel vindicated or upset that his opinion of Charge getting them killed was [in many’s eyes] right?
As you no doubt has realized now, Ortega can be a bit overbearing and abrasive, especially when they don't get their way. Like Sidestep, Ashfall liked being independent, but unlike with Sidestep, Ortega never found a balance between them. Ashfall thought Ortega took stupid risks just for the hell of it, which was fine if they had been a vigilante, but wasn't fitting for someone running the Rangers. It increasingly became a case of Ashfall thinking that he could do this better. And, since Ashfall liked Sidestep, there was also a bit of worry that Ortega would get them killed because Sidestep had no sense of self-reservation. Yes, he did feel vindicated when Sidestep died, but he also felt deeply ashamed that he hadn't stepped up earlier and done any of the things he was talking about doing. It was in part this which got him to finally accept becoming a Ranger and step up his game. Put his money where his mouth was.
How many dollars did mortum charge step for that fancy set of custom armor? What's the upkeep run?
I have no idea what the dollar is worth in the Fallen Hero universe so I will settle for A Lot of Dollars. The upkeep depends on the damage taken, but the electricity bill is a constant pain in the ass. It's expensive to charge.
Uh,, yeah, I have a question @ Ortega: what the FUCK, my guy
I suspect know what this is in reaction to, and I can only say one thing: Ortega is complicated and also the protagonist of their own story.
Did Sentinel have a cape? Considering his flight is wind-based I imagine it would be helpful for getting lift
Not a cape, but a wingsuit. Think of him a bit like a sugar glider, but with the ability to pull back the wingfolds into the suit. A cape would flutter too much, he needs some structural stability.
How did Chen and Ortega feel about the headquarters move? What is the old hq used for now?
They both felt it was nice to get a fresh start. Less memories, and better facilities. Chen was one of the ones pushing for it. The old hq is undergoing renovations, the LDPD is planning to move part of the operations in there soon.
Do Re-Genes get sick like regular humans? Or have they been engineered to have like a perfect immune system or something?
They get sick like regular humans, their immune systems vary.
How old was HB during the HB incident?
Late teens.
What kind of drugs would allow Sidestep to put their telepathy to sleep for a while while still being conscious and operational? Is there anything like that on the market? If there is, is Sidestep aware it exists? And what effects would numbers have on Sidestep—would the shielding of thoughts be external like with any other user, or would it also impact their telepathy?
There is a drug called "Talodine" which suppresses telepathic (and telepathic-adjacent) abilities. Sidestep knows it exists, and has experienced it's effect more than once. It's quite rare, and not something commonly available since it's quite a specialized drug. Numbers also affect a telepath if they are used. The shielding of thoughts would be external, like for a normal user, but it would also affect telepathic fine motor control. It would be a bit like trying to do fiddly things while very drunk, or listening to a broadcast through bad static. For a strong telepath it would be useless since their shields would have the same amount of protection already.
Just what kind of impact has having superheroes and villains had on the cultural landscape of Los Diablos? Are civilians desensitized to the chaos and the villains, or do they on some level live with fear? Do any of them resent corporate heroes or find them to be a flawed system? What is general public opinion on heroes vs vigilantes vs villains as a whole?
You do get desensitized pretty fast, the people who react the most tend to be the newcomers. It is a human instinct to downplay dangers that you are surrounded by every day, even if they are objectively a threat. Cars. Smoking. Covid. This is no different. In fact, some citizen take a pleasure in being as jaded as possible. "Oh yeah, my last car got wrecked when some asshole decided to throw it at the cops. You won't believe the problem I had with the insurance." That the view on heroes, vigilantes and villains are tends to vary. Just like today if you think about people's varying views on cops or the military. There is no general public opinion, it is a thing that is, just like the weather and earthquakes. Some support and are grateful, maybe they or someone they knew even got saved by someone famous. Others resent the power and privileges, others think heroes are no better than the villains, just with better press.
Bit silly, but have to ask.. what are the fire risks of Ortega’s powers? Do their mods have anything to sort of manage that, or has Ortega accidentally (or on purpose) started fires before with their powers?
Ortega has caused fires, both intentionally and accidentally. Just like anything electrical, sparks can cause fires, especially in dry conditions. There is no way around that really, but the latest generation of emitters are safer than the ones when Sidestep was active. They are less prone to accidental discharges or power leaks.
How do the Rangers and Mortum think about their gender? Do they think about it at all? How would they describe themself, gender-wise? To what extent did they question, deconstruct and explore their own gender, and if they did, what triggered that questioning? Are they currently happy with their gender identity and gender expression?
For this I will split Ricardo and Julia, but keep Dr. Mortum as one entry as the F and M versions have a similar view. Also, please note that I do not address whether a character is cis or trans. There are character in the book who's named to be one or the other, but there is room to do readings in either direction for the others. I will not take away anybody's truth there. Cis is not a default, it is a choice of the reader.
Ricardo: He's very confidently male, he's secure in his body, and likes it (apart from the grey hairs). He never really experimented with gender presentation, but he also never really had any fears of playing with his masculinity. Could totally wear nail polish or other female coded accessories, but wouldn't see it as affecting his manhood. It's just style (and he's a bit flamboyant).
Julia: She's been a bit back and forth. When she was younger, she embraced the male parts of herself because that's what she perceived gave her power and freedom. She was already tall, which gave her a head start, and added to it with muscles and training, as well as shorter hair. She had a bit of a punk phase, and had she fallen in with other (more queer) friends, she might have headed down the road of proper genderquestioning. As it was, her rebellious streak made her reclaim her femininity as she matured, because why shouldn't she be able to kick someone's ass and look smashingly hot when she did so? Nobody should be able to dictate how she's supposed to look to be respected. These days, she's comfortable in her gender, but is aware that if things had been slightly different, she might also have been. She still likes playing with masculine attributes, but not to hide her femininity.
Chen: Chen is male. Has never considered himself to be anything but. Why question what is? It's only lately that the question of what gender actually is has occurred to him, he was a bit slow on the uptake.
Argent: Argent has a complicated relationship with gender. Just like her body, it doesn't quite feel real to her. It's an affectation, an act perfected through countless hours in front of the mirror. To her, gender is attributes more than emotion, and she has spent a lot of time thinking about it and experimenting. She has created what she feel is her best self, but is it anything like her true self? She's not sure, but she can't allow herself to be uncertain. Her self-image is her everything.
Daniel: Even if Danny hasn't spent much time thinking about his own gender, he has spent a lot of time thinking about what gender means. How you are supposed to act. The legacy to live up to. He didn't like how manhood was defined when he grew up, he never fitted into the mold. And yet, the other alternatives felt equally constrictive. One reason he came west was to re-invent himself and be able to explore who he wants to be. He hasn't got exactly got room to do it, though. The PR team is as strict a teacher as his family ever was.
Dr. Mortum: Dr. Mortum has made a choice and is comfortable in that. How they have chosen to look like. How to act. How to live their life. They thought that being a villain would somehow give them freedom to be themselves, but the real freedom came post-retirement. Any act they put on is for their own accord, they don't need to please anybody else. Such a relief.
Does Elena have any favourite dishes to cook, particularly to cook for/ with Ortega and/or Step?
Tamales, it's all hands on deck for that. She's got such fond memories of it.
Was Danny's brother also a fan of Sidestep or was his favourite hero someone else?
Josh thought Mashal Hood was super cool. Masked, massive, took no shit, rode a cool bike.
What kinda hero would Danny's brother have been? Would they of been a team or would they have eventually gone solo?
What makes you sure he would have been a hero?
How did things go for Danny when he first moved out to Los Diablos? Where did he end up staying? Did he know anyone?
It was tough at first. He had some money, and ended up staying in a cheap hotel. He didn't know anybody, but during that first year, he did end up meeting a lot of people. A lot them was the kind of people he had never interacted with before, people running soup kitchens, drunks and drug users, social service people and other ones down and out of luck. He lost some of his naivety there, but he never lost his faith in people. He's still got some friends from those days, and funnels a lot of money their way without making a big thing of it. He desperately wants that side kept out of the papers, he knows the media team would ahve a field day with it.
There's been hints that you've been writing an emotional scene in your latest chapter... Any chance you would copy and paste a sentence or two from the new scene? A teaser? A crumblet of content?
"Oh." Her father. Dead. Military man. You've seen pictures. She doesn't talk about him much.
"I really don't feel like talking about him. Just... think about what you're doing, okay?" She shakes back her hair, then she holds out her hand for the bottle. You hand it to her. She takes a few deep gulps, coughs, then hands it back. Just like that, her smile returns, and the mask goes back on.
For Herald and Argent, I guess being boosted might count as the original motivator for becoming a vigilante. But what prompted that first step into actually being one, to actually act on that potential?
Argent: She needed to do something good to justify her existence.
Herald: He finally had the power to do something.
How did their first forays into vigilantism go? Had they been preparing/working themselves up to it and waited for a situation where they were needed? Or did they like just stumble upon crime?
Argent: She had been prepared, and willingly put herself in harm's way. This was all planned.
Herald: It was sort of planned? But he mostly fell into it through chance. He lived in a pretty skeevy area when he came to Los Diablos, so he didn't lack opportunity.
If Ortega hadn’t been fast tracked to ranger status once they got their mods, would they have been tempted to be a vigilante?
Even if they would have liked it, the couldn't have afforded it. And Rangers were better than being a company man/woman.
Is touch-based telepathy influenced by dampeners?
Not to the same extent.
During the HB incident, how did HB feel about Sidestep? Was Sidestep a victim / threat among others, or was there familiarity / recognition / interest / pity or anything of the kind? Did HB mean to pull Sidestep into their memories?
That is, as they say, big spoilers.
If they had been given unlimited budget, what kind of weapons and devices would Mortum have devised for Sidestep to go against each of the rangers?
I think the main thing would have been to add some form of distance weapon, either plasma or a small rail gun. That would have been possible with a first-rate plasmacore. Same goes for energy shielding. Both would have helped enormously against the Rangers.
Mortum strikes me as a one-step-ahead kind of person. Is there a secret failsafe they can use against Sidestep in that armor?
Heh.
Do nanovores themselves have any capacity to feel pain, temperature changes, etc.?
No pain. That is a foreign concept. They can feel temperature changes and energy fluctuations, but there's no value judgment to them. There is a "danger" feeling when things run the risk of harming them, and a "pleasant" feeling when approaching food. It's the latter feeling Sidestep connects to and intensifies to get them to eat the right things.
Not to make that a tradition or anything, but I loved the cursed facts post in December last year, so... Are there any sweet facts you want to share about the main cast this year?
Guess it's a tradition now. Here are this year's worth of cursed facts:
First the quickie chat questions from the discord:
Where is anathema Malin
Chillin'
Can we get some more Dave info?
Dave had a hero name once, but when he told someone, they laughed, and he never mentioned it again. And no, I don't know what it was. He's just Dave now.
Okay, questions you can actually answer... How does the Chargebike look like?
Do a picture google of "40's motorbike" and you will see the style. Ortega's had a few over the years, not actual vintage, but inspired by. The retro aspect is cool, and works better with their mods.
will we get a mitchell's guide to anathema at some point ? :D
Mitchell's guide to anathema is all blockletters: DO NOT ENGAGE
Do some meats work better for nanovore satisfaction than others.
Human is the best.
Speaking of bikes... what kind of car does Ortega prefer to drive?
I don't think Ortega is as particular with cars. Just like with clothes, they drive what they give them.
as long as it's fancy. Danny has however crashed one of Ortega's cars.
can ortega swim or do they sink
Ortega can swim, but it does take more effort. Lounging on the side of a pool though. Give them a wetsuit and it works fine with the extra boyancy.
Which one of the rangers makes the nanovores more... difficult to handle then. I'm thinking they might have a favorite
Oh yes. Danny.
What's Mortum's favourite car then, since they're the car fanatic of the bunch?
If you pic google "70's concept car" you might get an idea.
Do they ever attend car shows?
Oh yes. And loves concept cars. In fact... Ortega attends the same shows...
Do Dr. Mortum actually need glasses or is it just Fashion and Tech?
Mortum has no need of glasses
Does Mortum alter their cars? Like add new and/or dangerous tech. If so what was the worst addition?
Mortum always alter their cars. That's the point. The worst addition for the longest time was the remote driving thing, until they finally got it to work and now it is the best one.
On a related front: No flamethrowers. not anymore.
Was there a flamethrower incident?
Imagine shooting flamethrowers forward while driving.... physics suck.
does boost drug work on non-mammals? superbirds yes or no?
Superbirds is a yes. Insects, not that anybody is aware of.
Is jewelry a hazard on Ortega?
Not as long as it's not conductive. Gold is good.
If danny gets under the influence of alcohol or something does he start to float?
Danny do indeed often start to float while drunk!
Does anyone have/had tattoos?
No idea, probably Chen, though if he still has them I don't know.
Can Argent cut her hair / let it grow? And if not, does it mean it's the same length as when she... changed?
Argent can change the length of her hair at will!
what's danny's throwing arm like? how far could he chuck a guy in a fight?
Danny has an okay throwing arm, but he never really played baseball. Could chuck things pretty far tho
How long can Danny stay flying before he eventually gets tired
Danny can fly as long as he can stay awake. The flight doesn't affect it.
On a scale from go fuck yourself to double-dog dare, how likely are the rangers to engage in idiot dares?
Idiot dares, yes to NO: Ortega, Argent, Danny, Chen.
Can Argent paint her nails?
Argent can and does paint her nails on occasion.
Does ortega have a favorite dance style?
Anything close. In interviews, they would say Tango, but they're not as good as they think.
Would Mortum actually go clubbing
Mortum would go clubbing, used to do it when younger. Now it is mostly villain shindigs.
What's Elena's favourite dance style?
I think Elena liked the freeform ones the most, like disco. She has breakdanced, and wasn' bad. She was too busy for that most of the time tho.
best dancer in the rangers, past and present?
best dancer is Ortega, pretty much by default. NO. Wait. Sentinel. Could give them a run for it.
Is tia Elena’s first name Elena or is that a middle name? My abuela has it as a middle name but it’s what everyone calls her.
Elena's first name is Elena.
Has snowball ever had to defend the ranch
Snowball has defended the ranch. Ortega doesn't know about that. Elena does. She has seen what Snowball does.
what's snowball had to defend the ranch from?
Some unfortunate villains wanting to take a hostage
Office gossip with the past and present rangers. Have any of them dated? Office liaisons? Any secret feuds?
Hmmmm Ortega actually never dates staff. Ever. But the rumours fly anyway. Chen has had a secret feud with many. They never know, and now works elsewhere. Argent plays open favorites, and gets away with it. Daniel remembers people's birthdays and buys cake.
Would Mortum ever let us... borrow their gun?
Mortum might let you borrow their gun. There are a few possible guns in Sidestep's future.
what happened to psychopathor’s gun? or what was left of it?
It fell off, what happened after that is...
How pissed was the SD when they got the gun home and found it ratless?
The SD doesn't care about the rat king.
The saved regene... what does he think of Sidestep?
The saved regene doesn't know Sidestep saved them.
Who would enjoy a car chase? I feel like Mortum and Ortega would be into it but idk about everyone else?
They would! As would Chen actually. Danny if he could fly.
is there any part of being the marshal and/or fighting villains that chen really does enjoy?
Chen actually likes keeping track of villains and making sure to break things up before it gets too bad. Chen also REALLY likes being clever and winning.
Some more cursed tidbits without questions:
Argent is fond of shouting out the answers to quiz show questions wanting to be first. Nobody else does though, so it becomes awkward.
It took Daniel about six months to learn how to jog again after getting his powers.
Chen has kissed Ricardo once. On the forehead. While Ric was blackout drunk a year or so after heartbreak. Ric doesn't remember.
Ortega wanted a name with "lightning" in it, but the cool ones were trademarked.
Argent could drive Mortum's car better than they can.
Ortega actually reads the most books, but nobody would believe it. And they joke their bookshelf is for show.
Everyone except Argent has skinnydipped, and she thinks they're all gross. Probably cleaning up after gross fight and celebrating. And drunk bbq. And out in the middle of nowhere and it's warm. There is always an occasion. Chen included. Nudity is not so much of a thing after the military
Spoon has eaten one of Ricardo's ties.
Julia do like her suit jackets without a shirt when she wants to distract/provoke.
Julia is in fact not above stealing a random man's jacket after fighting in civilian gear and getting her dress/top ruined.
That man has been Chen more than once.
Ricardo is better playing the himbo than Julia is the bimbo, and yet people underestimate her more. In a twintega universe she would hate that.
Ricardo grew a mustache as he got older since he hated he started to look like his dad.
