Rough Sketch Collection
Added 2023-03-30 15:18:56 +0000 UTCWhile I took my little time off this month to gather my soul back to its container, it really felt like I had done absolutely nothing. Like I started a dozen things that all hit a wall.
Once I slowly got over myself and started finishing drawings again I can't describe how good I felt. Not being able to draw had me genuinely distressed, which only made my headspace worse. So I couldn't be happier to be over that.
But! Now, when I went back to my sketch files to see if anything was salvagable, I realize that actually I did draw and doodle and sketch quite a bit - none of it just reached some made up standard I had constructed for myself. I mean look at this shit! It's still there and drawn and existing even if some of them are stick figures!
Last night I finished this month's third tier art that I had been working on for the past few days, and there'll be a little something else before the month ends, too! (Who knows, maybe Enji will give his answer? A thrilling sequal 👀)

Because, you know, there’s not really much merit in biting teeth and smiling through shit thinking everyone else is doing fantastic 24/7 when in reality we’re all chasing after our own threads of sanity and well being! Being human and all that haha😂

While I was in the depths of it I went back to physical mediums, ink on paper and watercolors and all that just to keep doing something with my hands, even if not what I usually do. I have good few pages of a sketchbook now that look like an ink blot tests 😂 But it all did help! Thank you 🙏💕

And honestly if none of these were to go anywhere and they'd just end up being as they are, that's perfectly fine, i think they are still interesting to look at, kinda cute and quirky in its own way. I must admit, and I feel really guilty for feeling this, but hearing you talk about your experience this month with art resonated with me, like "ah, i'm not alone, and even a great artist like Pete goes through things like this too", I know that it probably is very wrong to feel that way, but it's just nice to not feel alone ^^; But I'm glad you shared your thoughts a little with us, thanks Pete ❤️❤️❤️

Because sometimes, moving my fingers and feeling that joy of doing something I love is the kick start I need. I always love seeing artist's sketches, seeing the lines feels like seeing the lines of your thoughts and your process. I'm glad you're starting to feel better and get out of your funk, I'm excited to see what you come up with next :)
