2019-02-24 05:50:08 +0000 UTCThat scene with Arya killing Ser Merryn was....very conflicting for me. Don't get me wrong. That piece of garbage deserved worse than he got. But (and of course, I'm just speaking on my behalf of my own feelings here)....I wasn't able to fully enjoy his death because of how shocked I was by what I was watching one of my favorite characters do. It's not even that she killed him. It was the brutality of it combined with the obvious pleasure she gained from what she did -- you said it perfectly, about enjoying it too much. It worried me because as we watch all of these seasons, we become emotionally invested in these characters and grow to care about them. This scene scared me. It make me feel very apprehensive about how Arya's story would continue and how she would evolve. Ahhh Thrones and your mind fucks :-)
