To be fair they were just blood hounds used for tracking/hunting and not the vicious "attack" dogs that Ramsey uses to kill people. So I guess they just ran off quietly??? Also I'm not sure why they would be so scared of those dogs. Surely Theon could tell from the barks they were just blood hounds and Sansa should have known that Ramsey needed her alive. In the real world you would likely die of hypothermia within minutes after crossing a river like that and wearing wet clothes in those conditions (take it from a Canadian). That was a very foolish move! But I'm willing to forgive the GoT writers since that scene with Brienne was so amazing. What a great moment.
