2019-03-01 00:46:08 +0000 UTCI think Roose not messing with the crypts is due to a combination of things - one, they’re enormous - said to be larger than Winterfell itself. Two, I think he’s the type to overlook the kind of power that might be contained there. Three, (I hope this hasn’t been in a previous history & lore? I’m so sorry if this is repeated information!) they’re scary, especially to anyone who isn’t a Stark - they’re said to be haunted. The tombs of the lords of Winterfell are headed with statues of the lords, all of which have their real sword lying across their laps...the sword is believed to prevent those with vengeful spirits from stirring...yet, among the oldest lords, it’s said the swords have rusted away. I believe there are things there that are ancient and unknown to anyone, really.
