Any plans on watching any of the fan made tribute videos etc before season 8 starts or do I remember you saying that you plan on watching those after season 8? Either way thank you very much for doing this, It's been a blast

I'm very bummed that this journey is almost over. I've watched just about every GOT reaction channel out there but I have to say that I've enjoyed yours just about as much as any of them and probably more.

Well stated, Ellie! That makes sense to me...thatās close to what I was trying to get at, but laid out more clearly.

For the second part, I just donāt think Wolkan is nearly as smart as Luwin was. Didnāt Littlefinger tell him, āLady Stark thanks you for your serviceā? Honestly, Littlefinger could have just told him that Sansa has asked Littlefinger to get the letter to look at it for something or other. He has no reason to suspect Littlefinger of anything. All he knows about him is that he brought Sansa to Winterfell to marry Ramsay and then came back to help her get rid of him. He may very well consider Littlefinger a protector.

Well, I donāt know if we can trust the Maester, and Littlefinger is very good at manipulating people into doing his bidding. That seems far less of a stretch to me than the Jamie stuff you outline. I suppose Daenerys didnāt know it was Jamie that charged her, since sheās never met him. Tyrion obviously knows, but decided not to tell her. And I guess Tyrion knows that Jamie survived because Varys still has spies in Kings Landing, even though we havenāt heard of any..... I dunno, Iām reaching, I know.

Hmm...Those are some good points! I thought it was possible that Daenarys didn't see Jaime get saved because the dragon/flames were in the way, but there's no way Tyrion didn't see.
Good point about Wolkan too... :\

There are several things in this episode that really bug me because I can't make sense of them... Why did Danaerys let Jamie go? both Dany and Tyrion saw Jamie charge at her and then fall into the river right beside her. Jamie would be a very valuable prisoner/hostage so I can't imagine they would just let him escape and go free like that. Even if they thought he was dead, wouldn't they at least pull his body out of the river or search the banks? Wouldn't Tyrion be upset if he thought Jamie drowned? And later in the episode he proposes meeting with Jamie as if he knows he's still alive. I don't get it. And why would Maester Wolkan be following Littlefinger's orders? I didn't think Sansa gave him any real power in Winterfell so wouldn't Wolkan need Sansa's consent to release the Starks' personal correspondence to him? Very odd.

Iām sure Iām not alone in being equal parts excited and sad for next week. Itās been a seriously fun ride with you, Eric. And you seem to have attracted a great group of patrons, with none of the misogyny Iāve seen elsewhere. It will be fun to sort through season 8 together... or console each other. š

I think Cerseiās smart, and I think Tywin appreciated that as well, his point is that she gets herself caught in her own webs. Thatās what she did with the High Sparrow. Her contempt for everyone is a major weakness as it causes her to underestimate a lot of people, plus sheās almost totally reliant on Qyburn, Jamie, and Euron (cringe). Her strength is that there is literally nothing she wonāt do to survive or serve up revenge, and people will always underestimate her in turn. But, I donāt see her suddenly being brilliant, I just see her suddenly better resourced with no real rivals.

Littlefinger realised that it would be hard to get Arya on his side because of her strong personality. So instead heās trying to have them both fight each other with Sansa hopefully ending on top. And Arya is simply suspicious of Sansa being power hungry and selfish (like she was as a child, so itās a legit thought). Remember: Weāve seen them grow for years and years, while they havent. Think of how they know each other from childhood back in season 1.

I agree with Tywin. Cersei is cunning for sure, but she's not very smart. She's extremely short sighted imho.

Everyone takes that line by Tywin as gospel, but I find it highly biased.

āI donāt mistrust you because youāre a woman. I mistrust you because youāre not as smart as you think you are.ā
She also has Qyburn operating freely with all the resources he wants, and she doesnāt have to deal with Varys, Pycelle, or Littlefinger.

Sam didnt miss the revelation, he has no reason to believe it has any more significance than the recording of bowel movements. Lol We as viewers know it's importance but no one but Bran is in on Jon's true history
2019-03-30 13:22:15 +0000 UTC
Gilly-bomb! Thanks for catching it and the implications right away... I didnāt really doubt you, but, you know, times are strange and full of facepalms. (Okay, that was terrible).
Watching your reactions from day one I quickly realized Iād be really interested in your reactions to this season because it is so different. You donāt have time markers like in previous seasons (the size of the dire wolves and dragons from season to season, for example) so itās a little disorientating to have no real sense of time. Apparently Jon was at Dragonstone for months. Okay. How long has Arya been at Winterfell? No clue. Just something to bear in mind.
Tin foil hat fan theory: You mentioned Cerseiās first baby with black hair. Why was she telling Catlyn that, especially when the show later beats you over the head with this prophesy? Remember in season 1 when Ned visited Gendry and asked about his mother? Hmmm..... you may remove your foil now.
