Definitely agree with your points! There are already so many barriers to better mental health for our society; affordable mental healthcare (or preferably free) is the absolute least we should be doing.

2019-12-18 16:30:38 +0000 UTCJoker's main strength is Joaquin Phoenix's performance, oftentimes he played him very sympathetically and also in a way which felt as though he was going to snap at any moment, his small moments created tension and unease and there were times where he felt geniunely scary. The main thing about it all this movie is more of a tragedy than it is anything else. That this capitalistic society, which seeks nothing but profit and cutting funding and lack of care for its most vulnerable individuals such as people with mental illnesses - who are not cared for and treated properly shows us the effects of isolation and feeling as though "if society does not care about me why should I care about them?" Joker is very much a product of that. He would not have existed otherwise, he was a character whose arc was preventable but wasn't allowed to become a better version of themselves and receive adequate care.

2019-12-18 07:22:43 +0000 UTCVery dark and twisted movie. While this movie was well acted by Joaquin Phoenix... I really did not like this movie at all. It was really creepy, and I hated how this movie portrays Thomas Wayne and Alfred. It's not right.
