Hey friend, would you consider using the term “enslaved people” rather than “slaves”? The distinction is important, as it both humanizes them as people & shifts it so we recognize that they were *enslaved* by others, rather than referring to them as “slaves” as if that is who they inherently *are*. Does that make sense? I can share sources if you’re interested in the subject. :)

I think that one reason why Tywin waited to reforge the sword is because the number of smiths that are capable of reforging Valyrian steel are super rare and most of them are from Essos. It probably took him a while to find the right smith for the job.
