It's interesting because a lot of people, myself included, felt like that "main character being overshadowed by the rest of the cast" thing happened in Black Panther too. I personally enjoyed T'Challa more in Civil War, and I'd say even in What If, than in his own movie. Then again, it's the same as with Shang-Chi: it's not that T'Challa wasn't a good character or Chadwick didn't do a great job, it's that most of the rest of the cast was AMAZING (you mentioned Nakia, Shuri, Okoye and N'Jadaka, but Andy Serkis as Ulysses Klaue stole every scene he was in too).
